Chapter 2: The Call

Yuuris POV

Its been a week since I started working at the ice house. I was at work but my mind was running. Yurio's teacher had pulled me to talk with her about him.

We had just arrived to the school. "Alright tiger you have fun at school okay!"
"Hmm whatever"
I sigh 'if he is like this now I can't imagine how he will be when he is a teenager.'
"Bye tiger"
"Bye pig"
I chuckle all of a sudden I hear a woman call out to me.
"Mr. Plisetsky!"
I turn and see Yurio's teacher
"Hi Mrs. Ivanov how can I help you today." I decided that telling her my real last name would be to confusing for her.
"How about you go on and play Yurio."
She smiled and Yurrio just walked off not saying a word.
"I wanted to talk to you about Yurio."
I frown "What's wrong is everything okay?"
"Well I'm concerned that he isn't socializing well with the others. By that I mean he is not socializing at all. I've tried to get him to make friends and play but he either scares the kids away or doesn't talk to them. I was wondering if something is going on at home if he is going through a phase."
I was shocked but everything made sense he never bragged about making friends or anything and if I asked he'd get mad at me. I sigh
"I think its a phase he just lost his grandfather and thats why im taking care of him. I'll talk to him."
She nodded "I see well that makes sense a lot of kids this young feel like no one will understand when it comes to situations like this." I nod "thank you for telling me"
We part ways.

"hey Yuuurrriii pass me a towel please." Victor said
"Do you know where my water is?" Sasha asked.
I grab a water bottle and hand it to victor and give sasha a towel while looking like i was lost in thought.
They both look confused, they looked at each other concerned.
"Hey Yuuri are you okay?"
"Hmm" I was so lost in thought I didn't quite hear him
"Yuuri?" He said it a little louder And placed a hand in my shoulder
I jump "huh Victor? Sasha? do you need something?"
They now looked really concerned and got off the ice and into the     
"Hey are you okay?" Sasha asked sitting down next to me.
Victor sat down on the other side
"*sigh* sorry guys I'm just worried about yurio"
"oh is he okay?! is he sick?" Victor said with concern. "Is he hurt?!" Sasha added on to Victors concern. I shook my head "no he is a very healthy little boy but the teacher pulled me aside today and said that he wasn't making friends. I think it has something to do with his dedushka but I have no clue what to do. do I talk to him or do I let him heal on his own. Should I get a cat? He loves  cats? Ahh I'm not cut out for parenthood. I have no clue what I'm doing."
"I'm sure you are doing great Yuuri just talk to him. Find out what's causing a problem." 
I sigh "That's the thing I know what's causing the problem but I don't know what to do. Yurio lost his grandpa this year. They were very close." Victor frowned "I'm sure you will figure it out Yuuri." 
Shasha smiled and nodded "Yea maybe just talk to him."
"Yea I gu-"
*Ring*
I look to see the schools number pop up. I was confused and concerned I answered it "Hello."
"Hi is this Yuri Plisetsky's guardian Yuuri Katsuki?"
"Yes this he, is everything okay?"
"No yuri just punched a student"
"He did WHAT!"
"He has been suspended for a week. He is in the office at the moment. Would you please come pick him up."
"Y-yes of course I-I will be right there. Thank you"
I put my phone away and looked at Victor's and Sasha's concerned faces.
"I got to go." I turned to Yakov who was coming to get people back on the ice. "Sir I'll be right back Yurio just hit another kid." he nodded Sasha and Victor eyes went wide "WHAT!"
I turned and went out the door. I had no idea what I was going to say to him but he was in trouble.

At the school

I walk through the office and saw Yuri sitting in front of the principal. "Mr. Katsuki" he greeted. I bow my head slightly "Hello Mr. Kuznetsov."
" Your son has assaulted a child and the other parents are very mad about this."
I look at Yuri and he looks away in anger. "I just want to know why Yurio did it. Was there anything that happened before?"
The principal shook his head "I have been trying to figure that out but yuri won't give his side of the story. He has not spoken a word."
I look at Yurio and he was still looking away.  "Yuri?" He looked up to my eyes. "can you tell me what happened." He shook his head. "Yuri I won't get mad I promise I just want to understand." he looked hesitant "you promise?" He was very quiet I nodded my head "Yes pinkie swear and cross my heart." He looked me in the eye and then finally spoke. "H-he called me a freak he he said that b-b-because I don't have grandparents." I was shocked "okay yurio but next time walk away and talk to an adult next time okay? Promise." He nodded "okay" I look at the principal and he nods his head "Thank you for telling us Yuri. I will lessen your punishment to three days. I will also talk to Jean Jaques Leroy about his behavior." I nod to him and look at Yuri "let's go tiger."
We get in the car and start driving. It was really quiet. I finally spoke "Yuri ... I know it's hard ... for both of us, but I want you to be strong make friends find someone to rely on." I sigh
"B-but I rely on you isn't that enough." His voice was small and it tore at my heart.
"Oh Tiger, I'm glad I'm the one you rely on I couldn't be happier but I want you to have friends, because friends are important. I mean I don't know what I would do without Phichit or Yuuko. and of course I will be there for you but I want you to have more than just me."
Silence
I park in the rink parking lot and look at Yuri who was looking at his shoes. "Promise me tiger. Promise that you'll try?"
He slowly looked up at me crying. "And who would want to be friends with a kid who beat up the popular kid. No one liked me before, now they won't look at me. I'm a freak!" I immediately turn and look at the sobbing boy. "Yuri plisetsky you are the most wonderful little boy I know! You are smart and loyal and stand up for what's right. Yes you can be tough and harsh but that's just who you are and I wouldnt change that for the world." Yuri started to cry even more. I turned to get out and went to his door. I open it and get the small boy out of the seat and hold him. He cries into my neck and holds me tightly. "W-why did grampa hav-have to leave us?! I miss him so much!" I started crying to "I do too tiger, I do too but everyone has to say goodbye for the last time. Just know he is watching over us okay with your mother. They love you so much Yuri and they are going to be with you every step you take. I will always be with you."
I start to walk to the rink and once we got in I go to the side bench. I was met with concerned faces.
"Yuuri what's wrong why are you crying?" Victor asked.
I wiped the tears from my face as I spoke "I'm fine Victor, really." Yakov was next to speak. "Do you need to head home early? I don't mind." I smile "no sir I'm okay thank you though"
He nodded "we were about to take a lunch break so you can do what ever you need to do." I nod and got an idea. "Sir do you mind if we skate on the ice?" Yurio peeked out from my neck to look at me. I had caught his interest, he loved skating just like his whole family. I have not taken him skating sense his grandpas passing. Yakov awnsered me "of course, the skates are over there."
I walk to Sasha and Victor, "could you watch Yurio for me?"
Shasha and Victor eyes brightened "Of course!" They said in sync "Anything for you." Victor added.
I blushed like mad and set him down on the bench and went to get shoes for me and Yurio.

Victors POV

I look at the young boy I was watching for yuri. He looks wide eyed at me. "Your V-Victor Nik-Nikiforov!!" I kneel down to the boys level. "Yup thats me and your Yurio right?" He looked at me wide eyed and nodded. "Well it is very nice to meet you Yurio. Would you mind if I joined you and Yuuri skating?" Yurio shook his head no. I smiled he was sooo preeeciooouuuusss!! I look up and saw Yuuri heading over with two pairs of skates and smiling ... KAWAII!
