I came across another photo from that same night.

My 21st birthday party.

The picture had Me, Ethan, Katie, Ava, and ally in it.

Ethan's shirt was unbuttoned a little at the top and his hair was messy from the time we had in the bathroom moments before. we all had our middle fingers up as my makeup was smudged and we all looked a hot mess.

It was one of those pictures you take when you're like super drunk and you all think you look good and badass but you don't.

I found the photo super funny and kept it.

Flashback

I ordered my coffee and then looked around for my two best friends.

Katie, and Ava.

Ava held a stern look on her face as Katie held a nervous one.

" Hey, what did you guys want to talk about?"

I greeted them with a hug and then sat down with the coffee I just ordered

"well..."

Ava took a pause

"Please just tell me, you sounded pretty serious on the phone."

Ava looked at Katie and then sighed.

God damn why can't they just tell me?

I'm anxious.

"We saw ethan.. with another girl, I'm sorry we have to talk to you about this again but-"

I blocked out her words with anger

"ava you can't be serious? this again?"

she looked scared but I did not care.

"Alice! we're just trying to help. we care about you."

"no, you're jealous. both of you!"

Ava gasped and Katie teared up.

"you just want him for yourself its been like this since the beginning. I'm done."

I was so mad I just took my coffee and then stormed out the cafe how could they do this to me?

I was so dumb to pick him over my friends.

I now realize that they just wanted to protect my heart.

Thank god.

I'm thankful they were there for me when we broke up. It took me some time to realize that sometimes all you need is some good friends some movies and support.
