He led us to his room. His door was darker than black. I don’t know if that was possible but it was. He opened the door. “Ladies first.” I walked in. The window was open so the room was cool. The wind blew. His curtains were laced and red. His walls were a dark black like his door. The ceiling stood out. It was a grey with a light purple and a sky blue. As I looked more I spotted more colors and realized it was actually a painting. I turned around to ask him about it. As soon as I did I couldn’t believe my eyes. His eyes looked gorgeous. A bright bluish silver, two colors at once. But that wasn’t what had me in disbelief. He had fangs. What the hell was going on?! Was he possessed? A demon? I grabbed the nearest thing to me which happened to be a book and chucked it at him. He dodged it. There was a piece of long thin glass on the floor. I picked it up and chucked that too! I skinned his face but it went through his ear. I looked at the door behind him and then back at him. Was he healing?! I turned around. I’ll take my chances! I ran straight through the window full force and rolled down the roof. I caught myself. I held on.  Dammit. Okay maybe I can drop down from here. I looked up at the window. He was standing there smiling. Fucking psycho! Oh man. I looked down again and then up. He was gone. Quick, gotta think quick! No panicking! Well alright, in movies when you don’t see a person near the window you just jumped from it always means they’re coming for you from below! I quickly pulled myself up with all my might. I gotta watch my step. I tried climbing back up but slid down a little. I looked back and could see him down below.  Fuck! Already?! I struggled my way back up. I looked in the window I had jumped from a minute ago, the room was empty.  I closed my eyes. Psycho’s are smart! Time to take another chance. I looked down closed my eyes again and let myself slide down the roof to the ground.

“Ah!” I whispered in pain. I looked around, I was right, he wasn’t here. My pants were ripped. I had a scrape on my knee. Ignore the pain and get the fuck out of here! I got up, ran, jumped over the fence and didn’t look back.  I ran back all the way to my house. I climbed the tree that led to my bedroom window. Thankfully I always leave it open. I  balanced myself through the branch and jumped in my room landing on my bed. I had moved my bed in front of the window a while ago for this purpose. I caught my breathe. What the fuck had happened?! My heart was pounding. I needed to tell someone about this! Was I crazy? Bad dream? Nope. My aching legs were proof this was real. No one would believe me. I’d be labeled insane. The cops would ask me if I was insisting that vampires existed and I wouldn’t have the answer to that. Yes and no. My mom would use this as an opportunity to put me away in some crazy facility and I’d rot in an asylum as an old lady telling stories about an inhumane man I came across until my death. I shivered. Best to keep this to myself. I suddenly felt my arms and elbows sting. I went to look at it and realized my hands were bleeding. There was glass in my hoodie. Probably from when I jumped out the window. My hair blew in my face. I’ve got to get myself cleaned up. I turned around to close the window and froze. Here he was right in my face grinning and licking his lips. I hadn’t escaped after all.

“Didn’t take long to sniff you out.”
