Father: "Son... Take this"

The father of a young Y/N handed him a golden box with puzzle pieces in it

Y/N: "What is this Dad?"

Dad: "This is the millennium puzzle... It's been passed down our family since my great grandfather Solomon Muto. Though my father used it to be king of games. Maybe you'll be able to actually solve it like he once did."

The young boy's eyes glowed as he started getting to work with the challenge. The puzzles eye glowing as if there was something still in it...

Present

I woke up to a sharp pain on my skull and I looked up to see the face of a very angry granny.

Y/N: "Y-Yes Granny Tsukimo?"

Granny: "When I promised your father I'd watch after you that didn't mean I meant you fail your classes... Now get your self into gear you'll be late!"

I get up and start getting into my school uniform since I did not want to get in trouble, I grab my deck, the millennium puzzle on my neck, missing a few pieces still missing since I haven't been able to solve it completely

Granny: "I remember when I was your age... Your grandfather was the greatest duelist on the planet you know, and he seemed to always trust his deck"

I nod and get my deck set

Y/N: "Yeah... After all I've heard about my Gramps, he's my idol even if some of his wins seemed odd..."

I held the box close to me as I got a trolley to class, when it got to my stop I walk to my school. Watching every antic my friend Yuma got into, and then the faithful free period... Duel period happened. I decided to join Yuma and Tori.

Y/N: "Sup guys"

Yuma: "Y/N! You'll duel me right!?"

Tori: "C'mon Yuma! Almost no one can deal with your big bro!"

Y/N: "Aw Shucks... I'm not that good Tori, I'm just average"

Yuma: "Yeah right! Even Shark sees you as a good duelist."

I smile and put on my duel gazer

Y/N: "Well... I'll duel you once you get an XYZ card."

Yuma: Hmph... You'll see! I'll beat you once I do get one! Then your Ebon Illusion magician is toast!"

I smile

Y/N: "Them I'll probably just use something stronger than him. Hehehe"

Yuma: "Ack!? No fair you never told me you had a mosnter stronger than him!"

I laugh as I notice Yuma's friend fighting Shark. So the others and I go to watch as shark XYZ summoned a monster.

Yuma: "Wanna know why XYZ summoning is so cool Tori? Since once you XYZ summon a monster the monsters used stays to help their new buddy with it's abilities... If I had just one XYZ card... Everything would be better..."

I look at his wonder and smile lightly as I had a few cards for him for his birthday later in the year, he'd be fine

Then as his friend, Bronk I think... Who names their kid Bronk? Whatever, lost the duel

Yuma: "Bronk! You okay bud? Why would you duel a guy like Shark?"

Bronk: "I'm sorry Yuma... He called me a chicken if I didn't duel him. So I bet my deck that I could beat him"
