Back to the Shadow Realm (Final Chapter)

(About a month or two after last chapter)

Vi was in her bed, being healed. Of course she was targeted. They just want me to return to the Shadow Realm, so they target my sister. She almost died because of me. I hear the sound of someone teleporting into the house. I turn away, amd sigh. I write a note on a napkin, and turn back to Kai. We teleport back to the Shadow Realm, leaving my sister behind.

(In the Shadow Realm.)

It feels nice being back, almost like I missed it. Like I belong here. In my old cell, I trace the markings on the wall. 5,475 days. I look around, and find the rock I used. I add another line. As much as I liked the Overworld, I missed the Shadow Realm.

(The Next Day)

The Queen walks by my cell and stops in front of it. I don't bow or curtsey. I just stand there, looking her straight in the eyes. She opens the cell door, and walks inside, still gaining no respect from me. She closes the cell, to prevent me from leaving, and steps towards me.

Welcome back, Solvius. I'm sure you missed us here, so why did you leave?

I had my reasons. I had business to tend to in the Overworld. I had planned on coming back myself, but the portal I had used was closed. So I stayed.

You couldn't have realm jumped? Everyone does that now.

Realm jumping is magick, something I have very little of. Though that's not your fault.

Of course not, if you did have magick, you could have become a guard instead of staying in here.

Of course. I could have become a guard. I roll my eyes when she turns her head.

That's a lot of markings. She's talking about my wall. What are they from?

That's how many days I've been here. Then there's some runes and sigils that I learned a few years ago from a book. They protects the person who drew it. Then I have my old packs marking, which is a crescent moon and three crystals.

Oh. That's very nice. Anyway, I must leave.

She turns away, and leaves. I still don't give her any respect of any kind, as she hasn't earned it from me, and by the time she has, she'll be dead. I move the rock from a corner, and in the hole underneath lies a knife. I take the knife, and put it on the ground. I shift into my small wolf form, and pick it up in my muzzle. I move towards the shadows, and jump through the bars.

I walk towards the Throne Room, cloaked by the shadows. As I reach the room, I shift out of my wolf form, and open the knife. Still covered in shadows, I walk into the room, and find the Queen isolated, and looking for a book. I walk up behind her, and use the knife, which when opened, has a blade the length of a sword.

I say a quick prayer, hoping that no guards walk in, and quickly slice a small bit of my skin to let my blood into a ritual bowl, and then slice off the Queen's head, and collect her blood. I recite the ritual, and feel the power inside of me. For a few days, I would have unimaginable power, the book said.

The guards storm in, and as soon as they lay eyes on me, they yell out in pain. Kai teleports into the room, and bows before me, congratulating me on becoming Queen.
