"So, who are you?"

The man snorts causing you to raise your eyebrow. He shifts to face you and places his chin on his palm which is being supported by the sofa.

"And why do you want to know?" His voice appears a lot sweeter than you expected. At that, you raise your eyebrows and examine him from head to toe. He has pale skin with a few bruises on his right cheek. He is quite tall and has a lean body to compliment his height. Other than that, his clothes seem quite clean with just dirt stains at the edges.

"Excuse you! Do remember you're standing in my territory and I can just kick your ass out anytime I want! It's only natural for someone to be intrigued of a stranger who is going to be with you for god knows how long!"
You spitted out all of it in one breath pointing your index finger right at his face.

The unfamiliar man stood up raising his hands in the air in surrender. He turns around and faces you.

"Woah woah! Woman, you gotta chill." He snickers for quite some time and gives you a half-smirk.
You fold your arms and huff out a breath.

"Name." You demand.

"I'm..." He starts and you listen attentively to catch who he is.

There was a pause and-

"...your father."

You groan and mess your hair in frustration. This guy really does get on your nerves. Should I just throw him out? You thought. This way he will regret messing with you.

You stand up and stomp a few steps to him, eyebrows furrowed causing wrinkles to sit on your forehead and nose scrunched in an exasperated manner.
He made you so infuriated that you didn't notice when you straddled him on the couch.

"Ohh? Getting quite bold are we?" He snickers while sneaking his arms around your waist to hold you in place.
Your eyes dart to your position on his lap and quickly scramble up on your feet.

"Asshole."

Your face flushes when he chuckles lowly. "Tell me yours and I'll tell you mine." The man strolls around the house checking each and every corner.

"It's not like we will see each other again after this. I don't think you should bother." You mumble.

You see him swipe a layer of dirt from the bookshelves and wipe it away with his thumb. "Right back at you, love."

Rolling your eyes, you do your usual sorting out things you stole- no, there's no such things as a sinful crime in this lawless place anymore.

"Kang Serri?" His voice snaps you out of your trance. "That's your name?" He looks at you through his light colored hair.

As soon as your eyes set on what he is holding in his hand, you sprint across the living room to snatch it away.
"Stop touching my stuffs without my permission!" You raise your voice at him.

"Alright alright, feisty little one." He comments while walking back to the couch.

You side eyed him and slide the thing into the back pocket of your jeans.
"Jongseong."

You furrow your brows in confusion.
"Pardon?"

"You can call me Jongseong." He said smirking.

"Nobody asked." You roll your eyes and toss him a bag of chips from your backpack. "Need to entertain the guest yeah?"

He hums and opens it with a pop.
"I'll leave in the morning when the coast is all clear." He motions to the horde outside your window while chewing loudly on the chips.

You sigh but nod anyway. "Where do you even live? It's been months since I've last seen a mortal."

"With my brothers about 20 minutes from your place. Speaking of them, they are probably worried. It was my turn to get the weekly grocery shopping." He shrugs.

You giggle at his attempt to joke at a time like this.

"What about you? Are you alone?"

"Huh? Yeah... I lost my family about two months ago." Your voice shaky as you reply.

"Shit. That's right about time when all these started. That must've been hard."
His voice filled with sympathy as he speaks.

"Yeah but I got used to it. Act tough for tough times. Anyways you're sleeping on the couch." You quickly change the subject and avoid more questions to come your way.

"Yeah yeah. Hey! At least give me a blanket or something."

○●○●○●

"Thanks for having me." Jongseong winks while putting his worn out sneakers on.
"On second thought, why don't you come along with me to my base? You're by yourself here anyways. We could provide you with better necessities."

"Yeah no. I'm pretty fine alone and there is no way I'm trusting a stranger I just met a day ago." You sneer while opening the door only after checking the surroundings through the peephole.

"Hey! I'm being genuine-" He retorts while you shove him out of the house.

"Just get going already!" Heaving a sigh, you close the door with a creak.

And I'm all alone again.
