You shifted in the fluffy dress, your cheeks painted a dark pink and your lips a dark red. You had been down here for years, arguably decades. You had no idea you'd come to this at some point. From dancing in tribes of the southern Asian continent to the mediocrity of the shows in hell wasn't your idea of a good boost. It was whatever. Now you had a place that even Katie had to applaud you for, even if you had to continue at the low paying joints.
Katie was standing next to you in a dark purple dress currently, rolling her eyes as she took a drag of her cigarette. "You're so old but you're like a fucking child," she sniffed. You huffed and crossed your arms at her, sticking your tongue out.
"Last I checked, I died young too," you snorted. She smirked and flicked the cigarette at you.
"Dinner at five," she hummed.
"You better bring your wallet, little miss. I've been struggling this month," you sang. She rolled her eyes and flicked your ear, the stripes the same color as your irises.
"All right, kitten, but you owe me," she smirked.
"When do I not repay such kindness," you laughed. She smirked and walked to the table with Tom. You didn't like how much of a pushover he was. No man you had met before him was such a coward. You blew kisses to Katie and she flipped you off as the camera began to play. You walked out of the studio, taking a breath as you mentally prepped yourself. You were going to try out for a larger production. You wanted to star in something bigger than the small stage shows you had been.
You made your way down the hall, your footsteps quiet as your feet were bare. The tryout you planned was going to blow them all away and you were going to make sure of. You fixed the blouse and into the corset. Why the west invented these you didn't understand but it did help with the posture of the whole performance. Everything was set up and producers were taking their seats. You smirked and walked to the back, giggling.
You watched the others when it started in boredom. They didn't try to expand. They stuck to what they liked and what they could do and you felt a yawn coming from your chest. It only made you more excited for yours. You had to force yourself to calm down as you walked onto the stage with a calm facade.
You felt the eyes and you basked in it. You faced the crowd, took a deep breath, and let out a loud note. When it ended the music started and that's when you bounced to life. The silk curtains unfurled from the ceilings and you wrapped yourself around it, the dress making it difficult to climb up. The people watched and one caught your attention, a smirk coming to your face as you began to dance with the curtains.
You swung over the crowd, stopping in front of the demon in a moment of suspense. His head was a television, the screen buzzing as the smirk and squinted eyes gazed back at yours. The dress flared out under you, the underside of it glittering in bright oranges and blacks, your bare feet had become known and the shin guards had a few of the guests in confusion. Your attention wasn't on them though. You reached out the last inch, kissing the screen where the mouth was and it turned red and black as gravity pulled you back to the stage.
You used the momentum to launch yourself, your hands gripping the front of skirts as you spun. Before you landed, the skirt had been taken off. The excitement ate into you as you went with the music as the tempo picked up. The doors opened silently and you noted how Katie had walked in with a single camera. She was smirking as she watched, the skirt falling to the floor as you flipped on the stage. The same television headed demon watched intently, his eyes still red but the rest of his screen a slight pink.
You spun, keeping your eyes on the demon as you smirked and bowing when the music stopped. Clapping started as you lifted the skirts and threw them over your shoulder, walking to the backstage. You smirked at the other performers, keeping your head high.
