Race to the moon

~Chapter 1~

I walk through a snowy biome with my hands stuffed in my lab coat, towards a small shed looking building made out of oak wood. I rub my nose against the sleeve and sit down in a chair in front of an old-looking tv. My question though is why there are three chairs when I'm the only one on my team. The color they gave me was black; team black is what I'm called. After listening to Stampy's grandfather and his annoying voice, I stand up and walk out of the shack into a random direction, gathering wood and food as I go. What I don't understand is why Stampy's grandfather only mentioned that there are three teams. Strange. 
After a while, I come upon a huge cave, and I decided to make a crafting table and a pickaxe. I jump down into the cave and start mining, getting supplies. As I'm mining, I dig too far down and fall through a hole in the ground. I scream as I fall, hitting my head on the sharp edge of broken stone. My hearts drop drastically and I struggle to get up, dizziness making my vision fuzzy, blood causing my hair to stick to my skull. I grit my teeth as I force myself to sit up against the cold stone wall behind me. I take a deep breath and look around, hearing growling. I sigh and squint my eyes to see in the dark. I pull out a stick from my inventory and hold it tightly in my hand as the growling gets closer. 

"I swear to god if this is a freaking zombie.." I whisper to myself. I get hit by something and the growling is right in my ears. I swing my stick and hit the zombie over the head. I hear a group of three people approaching where I fell in and the zombie gets distracted and heads up to the group. I hear someone say to watch out. 

"Watch out Chache. Theres a zombie with a Christmas hat on." he say as I hear the zombie get killed. I sigh and peak my head out as they pass by. I blush as I see the leader as he looks back, talking to the other two in his group. He glances down at me and I duck down, pressing my body against the stone wall. I hear him sigh and start walking away. 

"Whats wrong squid?" Stampy asks as he walks up next to squid. 

"I thought I saw something. I was probably just seeing things. Anyways. Let's get going." he says as they start walking away from where I am towards a desert. I sigh from relief and rub my head, seeing its healed. I stand up and stretch.

"I need to stay hidden.. they obviously don't know that there's another team.. Let's keep it that way." I say softly as I go back to mining and getting materials. I find some iron and giggle excitedly. "Yes! Now I can make a sword and maybe some armor" I say as I place down my crafting table and make a furnace. I place it down and put my iron in it and then sigh when I realize I don't have any coal. I grab my pickaxe and look around in the dark for coal. I finally find some and start mining it. The first thing I do with it is make some torches so I'm not wandering around in the dark. I place some down around where I set up camp and in the little side part of the cave I'm in. I see more iron and mine it up as I head back to my crafting table and furnace. I place the iron I found in the furnace with the coal and smile as it starts to smelt it into ingots. I start off by making an iron sword and pickaxe. Then I make a pair of boots and a helmet out the rest of the iron. I gather up my furnace and crafting table as I head up to the surface and put on my boots and helmet. I look around and hold out a torch as I walk so I can see. I follow where the other team was headed and  see a light up on a mountain in the desert. I smile and start my trek up the mountain. As I make it up to the top I duck behind a tree as Squid looks in my direction. I curse at the stick I stepped on and peek around the corner to see if he's still looking in my direction. I jump and fall back when I see he's right next to the tree. He steps around and holds out his stone sword, pointing it at me.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" He asks as he stares down at me. I raise up my hands and flinch back. 

"D-dont hurt me.." I whimper as I scoot away. I back into someones legs and look up to see stampy. I scoot away from him and against the trunk of a tree as they both look at me. 

"Whats going on Squid. Who's this?" he asks as he looks at me. Squid shrugs and puts away his sword and pulls out a torch. I look up at them and flinch as Stampy steps towards me. He smiles and holds out his paw. 

"Im not going to hurt you." he says and looks at Squid as he helps me up. I hold my arm and look at the two of them.

"I-im sorry for barging in.. I just saw the light and wanted to check it out.. I kind of followed you here.. sort of.." I mutter softly as I look at squid. "You actually almost saw me earlier.." I say to him and he rubs his head. 

"Oh? I knew I wasn't seeing things. Why didn't you just come with us?" he asks as he smiles and holds out his hand. "My names Squid, iBallisticsquid, but you can just call me Squiddy. This is Stamps, and I don't know where Chache is." he says softly. 

"Im right here." Chache says as he steps out from behind Squid and scares him half to death. I giggle as he holds his chest and complains that Chache almost gave him a heart attack. He looks at me and smiles, laughing as well. 

"Anyways, that's Chache. Whats your name?" he asks as he rubs his neck. I blush and rub my arm.

"My name is Kayda. Its nice to meet you three. Thanks for not killing me. I don't want to have to start completely over in the dark.." I say softly and smile as I look up at them.

"Well, welcome to the team Kayda. Unless you're already on a team." Stampy says and raises an eyebrow. "If so.. where's the rest of your team?" he asks a bit concerned. 

"Im a one person team. I guess thats why your grandfather didn't say anything. He probably thought I couldn't make it on my own." I say softly and look up at him. He laughs and shakes his head as he hugs me.

"My grandfather is a mean man sometimes. I believe you could've done it on your own, but since your here you can join our team, we don't have to tell the old man ether. It's our little secret." He says as he winks at me and chuckles as the others laugh and smile at me. 

"Welcome to the team Kayda!" they say in unison. I blush and smile brightly. I just got invited by a very strong looking team, I can definitely say that I'm excited for this journey.
