23. Angry Woman

"Did he talk to you?"

"Javi-"

"Did he touch you- stop don't touch that!"

"Javier-"

"I swear if he said anything-"

"Javi! Im fucking fine! Stop worrying about me so god damn much, jesus fucking christ! I'm not some broken china! I'm just pregnant and want to go home because I just saw the father of my baby in a fucking Whole Foods and he didn't even acknowledge the fucking fact that I'm fucking pregnant!" Eve has caused a scene, everyone outside of their cars looked at her and she glared at them. "What?! Have you not seen an angry pregnant woman before?!" She yells before Will dragged her into the black SUV that Eve had traded in for her car.

Eve was still pissed off when she got out of the car. Javi tried helping her out of the car but she brushed him off, "Don't fucking touch me..." She muttered, grabbing her cellphone and purse and heading towards their apartment. Javier looked over at Will, "What did he tell her?" He asked him, "He said that she looked good." Will stated, Javi rose a brow. "That's it?" He questioned, the redhead nodded.

"He was with his kids... I think that's what threw her off the most, you know? He told her that he didn't want another kid and she saw him happy with his... She's upset. I think that she thinks that she isn't good enough..."

"Bullshit he isn't-"

"That isn't the point, Javi... Pedro rejected her and her kid. She obviously feels like the mistress and that her child is the bastard of the king... She doesn't feel good about herself and you're not making her feel any better." Will grabbed the bags of groceries and carried it towards their home.

Eve sat in the bath crying to herself, hugging her knees. It was probably midnight or one in the morning. She couldn't sleep. She hasn't been able to sleep.

And then her phone rang.

She answered carelessly, sniffling before answering the phone.

"Evergreen Florence..." She answered apathetically. The other side of the line was silent, Eve was about to end the call when she heard a voice quietly speak on the other side. "Are you okay?" They asked, she rose a brow, she didn't immediately recognize the voice. It was raspy and dry, as if they had been crying
too.

Unknown Caller || Evergreen

"Um... who is this?"
She muttered, moving around in her bath.

"Who else would be calling your at midnight, Princess."

"...I thought I told you to lose my number." Evergreen wasn't agree that he had called, she was actually a little relieved.

"You out all of all people know I couldn't do that..."

Eve sighed, getting up from her bath and draining the water.

"Why did you come up to me? You didn't have to do that, Roe... Your kids-"

"My kids know who you are."

"What?"

"You think I wouldn't tell my kids if I started seeing another woman? It might have been for a short time but they knew who you are."

"Why?"

"They noticed, my kids are smart, Evergreen."

The line went quiet as Eve walked into her room and changed into warm clothes before sitting outside on her balcony.

"I went by your house... I assume you're not living there anymore."

"Like I said, I'd switch my live around if I have to... Now I'm an even planner, not a party animal."

"I'm glad to hear that... Especially with that baby you have on your way..."

The line went quiet again.

"You don't want to ask the question, do you?"

The actor didn't answer.

"I'll just answer it for you then... No it's not Javiers or Williams. It's yours Pascal."

"I know..."

"Then why the fuck don't you do anything about it? Aren't you mad? Pissed off that I didn't do what you told me to? Aren't you in the slightest angry with me?"

"...Why would I?"

"Because you're a coward."

"... I know that too and I'm sorry."

"Sorry isn't gonna cut it. I have a kid who is coming in six months who isn't going to have a fucking dad because he's to busy keeping up with his own goddamn life and doesn't feel like owning up to what he did."

"Javier seems more than happy enough to take my place, Evergreen."

"But he isn't you... Javier will never be you. Javier can't replace you. I don't know why you can't get that through your fucking head."

Unknown to Eve, Javier has woken up to the loud drain of her water. He listened into her conversation. He wasn't surprised that it was him. He wasn't surprised that he heard the words come out of her mouth.  But that didn't mean that he was going to leave Eve, he couldn't. Especially not right not. Javier has to swallow his feelings. For the baby.

"I want to see you."

"Right now?"

"Yes right now. I'll pick you up. Just send me your location."

"Fine... Just let me know when you're here. I don't want you to wake up Will or Javier."

How considerate of you, Javier thought to himself. Slowly making his way to the living room.

"Alright... I'll see you soon."
