Cha’re, Skaara, and Gabe were brought forth to Apophis. He stared down at them with condescending eyes. “You three will give your lives to serve your god.”

Gabe laughed. “How are you going to make us?”

Apophis smiled. “My Queen is looking for a new host… the woman will do nicely. My son can have the boy. But you…” He said, looking at Gabe. “I hear you have quite the interesting ability.”

Gabe rolled his eyes. “All sentient beings have a 25% chance of having a genetic ability, although it rarely activates. It’s nothing unusual, I just know how to use mine.”

Apophis’ eyes flashed. “You will tell me the secret to harnessing this power.”

“I thought you were a god? Why do you need my help mister omnipotent?”

Apophis slapped Gabe across the face. “If you weren’t useful I wouldn’t hesitate to kill you where you stand, insolent fool. I am Apophis, god of snakes and the night!”

Gabe looked around. His hands were tied, but he could still use his powers if he wanted to. But with so many guards around…

Apophis glowered. “Jaffa!” He yelled at a random Jaffa guard. “Give me everything we found on his person.”

Gabe tensed. That wasn’t good.

Cha’re and Skaara sensed Gabe’s fear, and then started shuddering.

Apophis took the Wingdings badge and sash, which were useless to him. They only responded to Gabe’s DNA signature.

However, all Wingdings also carried with them a PowerPill.

Apophis held the small, pinkish-red, slightly glowing pill between his fingers. He sniffed it. “Lobster flavored…” he murmured. “This was meant to be eaten, wasn’t it?”

Gabe said nothing.

“I wonder… if it’s poison. Or if it has some beneficial effect.” Apophis grinned. “If it’s poison, I can simply take you as my host. If it isn’t…”

Before Gabe could react Apophis threw the pill in his mouth and swallowed. Seeing the look on Gabe’s face he laughed. “So it wasn’t poison… JAFFA! Bring me my Queen and my son.”

Two of the jaffa guards left, and returned in a few minutes with a container. Inside were two snake-like creatures swimming in a viscous fluid. The lid was opened, and the snakes shot out of the liquid and into the necks of Cha’re and Skaara. They fell over instantly, convulsing. Then they stood up, and their eyes glowed. Cha’re spoke with a voice much deeper than should have come from a woman. “My king. We thank you for our new bodies.”

Apophis nodded. “Go forth, and set up your armies. Jaffa. Get my first prime, I want him to interrogate this prisoner personally. Then lock him up, save him until I need a new host.”

Soon, a dark-skinned and very bald jaffa entered the room. The symbol on his forehead was engraved in gold. He turned to look at Gabe. “I am Teal’C. I will be your interrogator.” Teal’C grabbed Gabe by the neck, and dragged him away.

Apophis smiled. Already he could feel his body changing. Both him and the host were undergoing a transformation. He wondered what it would be.

Hammond was finding it hard to understand that these kids were talking to him like adults. It didn’t quite register.

O’Neill waved his hand. “General?”

“What?”

“We’re talking about rescuing some people?”

“Right. Why should I allow these young people to accompany you?”
