I pour some of the blue liquid on the large gash in Jeremy's side, and press down on it with a large towel. I scrunch my nose up as I lay my weight down on top of his wound, and he holds onto one of my thighs, squeezing tighter in pain.

"You said it wasn't that bad," I complain, and lift the towel up to see if it's getting any better.

He is laid down on a bed, while I'm standing up next to him, so I can stop the bleeding and hopefully make the wound start healing with the potion Petra made.

"It isn't," he reassures me. "I'm fine. Put some more on there."

I sigh, and reluctantly grab the bottle before I pour some more on there. I put the bottle down and press my hands down on the towel as I feel him squeezing my thigh again.

"Please don't let me do this if it hurts," I say, and keep pressing the towel down onto his naked torso.

"It doesn't hurt," he says through clenched teeth.

"Stop lying," I tell him.

"Fine, it hurts like hell, but it'll hurt more if you don't do this, Dani," he says. "Just... keep going."

I bite my tongue from saying anything else, and keep pouring and pressing onto his side so much I'm almost doing it automatically. He stops talking, but he keeps squeezing my thigh, and I don't know what to say, other than "it still looks bad", so I don't say anything either.

We keep doing this for a long, long time, until I finally notice the gash has stopped bleeding.

"It stopped!" I say excitedly, and lean down to kiss his cheek.

"Great, just a couple more times, then," he tells me, clearly still in pain.

I do as he says, and feel like a weight has lifted from my shoulders now that I know I'm almost done.

When he finally says I can stop, he sits up, and smiles at me.

"You're a lifesaver," he says, and pulls me closer to him by my thighs. "Thank you."

He smiles up at me, before he buries his face in my stomach, sniffs me in, and exhales like he's held his breath for weeks. He wraps his arms around my waist and doesn't let me go at all. It feels really good to be this close to him, and his slightly changed personality. I can't help but think that the change was due to our time apart, and the burning in his heart. Maybe we weren't meant to figure everything out the first time, because he had some stuff to work through on his own? I know I had to be reminded I could function without him, even though I didn't function well I know it won't be the end of the world if I somehow end up alone again.

"You're welcome," I whisper, and run my fingers through his brown hair.

The sound of several cars pulling into the parking lot outside disrupts our cute, little moment, and I hear him groaning into my stomach. His hot breath makes my skin boil, in a very good way, and then he looks up at me.

"What do you say if I tell you I've got a room here, and you don't have to share with your brother anymore?" he asks.

"You mean... share with you instead?" I ask, biting my lip a little to hide my excitement.

"Yeah, if you want," he answers. "If not, I could share with Tristan. I'm sure he wouldn't mind that now that we're such good friends and all."

I put my hand in front of my mouth to stop myself from laughing too hard, but it doesn't work that well. I lean down to kiss his lips softly when my laughter is contained, and I smile, looking into his one perfect, green eye, and another green iris with red surrounding it.
