The fog started to settle down as the leaves on the trees fell, one by one. Their frail and weak connection to the tree not being able to support them any longer.

"Autumn is here," a young girl, sitting on a wooden table whispered to herself, gazing out into the cold empty street through the glass window. There was little to no light outside, just specs casted on the street by glowing fireplaces of the rooms that lined on either side of the road.

The table the girl so calmly sat on had no other items on it besides a leather bound diary, a fountain pen and a silver locket. The girl sitting on the table, with her face just a few inches away from the glass window, blankly stared as one leaf fell after another. It was a never ending process, but that is what she liked about it, never ending. Her round , chubby face stuck in one place and her long straight, black hair slightly drooping in front of her face. She had a small button nose and thin pink lips. Her lips slowly parted a bit as she watched a leaf break free, only to fall down on the wet and cold stone pavement.

Loud metallic clings echoed through the room as the door flung open. Startled, the girl jumped down from the table and stood straight, facing the concrete wall, looking at her feet.

"Don't be afraid, my child," a soothing, male voice came from the door. "It's just me, your friend!"

"Friend!" The girl cheerfully turned around and ran towards the tall man in a light blue shirt and black tie, standing at the door with his arms open. He had a fair skin complexion with a small beard and moustache, neatly trimmed. His eye sockets were placed a bit deep in the skull giving his eyes a dark shade to them. He was not very well built, but looked strong.

All the sad expression that she had on her face earlier was gone as she beamed with joy. They embraced each other and the hug got harder with every moment that passed.

"Friend, where were you for so long ?" Asked the girl as she started crying. "You know how lonely I get without you, and how much almost everyone here hates me !"

Tear drops escaped the corner of her beautiful black eyes and down her blossom pink cheeks. They went down her face and met at her chin.

"Oh my dear child," the man wiped the tears off her face and gave her a handkerchief. "My little Annita, I'm so sorry that I had to go for longer than usual. But as I always say, you reap a sweeter apple, if you are patient. And this time, I have come back with a surprise for just my most favourite and sweetest little girl friend in the world !"

    "Really, a gift ?"

"Yes, I had it locked so no one could steal it and I just cannot find the key."

He started patting his pockets and jacket, then Annita's clothes and suddenly started tickling her all over her body. They both fell down and started laughing hysterically, their voices filled the air in the room with feelings of pure joy and happiness. He let go of Annita who got up and looked at him, smiling widely.

"Actually," the friend got down on his knees to face the girl. "I have come back with not just one, but  two gifts for you!"

"Two gifts ?" Annita shrieked with happiness.

"Of course, special gifts for my special girlfriend. I have got a fluffy white rabbit and a solution to the awfully terrible food the lunch lady makes !"

"Which solution are you talking about, friend ?" Annita asked with a bit of a confused look.

"There is a man who has volunteered to take you under his custody in St. Brieuc in North West of France !" Exclaimed the man with a big smile, trying to make it sound exciting and fun.
