The sun was shining and all one could hear from the city was the hustle and the bustle of the city's citizens. And through all the people living their regular lives, one boy stands out. And his name is Simon.

Simon is a very polite, kinda shy, responsible, happy-go-lucky kind of guy. He was 19 going on 20 and moved out from his parents to attend college in a big city. He works as a secretary to pay for what he needs since he takes night classes so he can work in the day. And lives with a roommate in the city.

As he enters his work building he goes and signs in at the front desk where his co-worker Alicia works at.

"Morning Simon," Alicia says.

"Morning Alicia. How are you doing so far?" Simon asks with a smile.

"Good. You have to tell me how you always come here either on-time or early." Alicia said teasing Simon for his properness.

"I just don't like being late. We're gonna have lunch together again?" Simon asked since they always go together.

"Yep. See you at three." Alicia said while Simon walked to the elevator to greet his boss. On his way, he couldn't help but be grateful to his boss, Mr. Faye, for the opportunity and taking that chance to have me as a secretary.

He arrived in front of Mr. Faye's office and poked his head in.

"Hello and good morning Mr. Faye," Simon said cheerfully.

"Simon, good morning to you. And as I instructed you before just call me Andrew, " He said to Simon.

"Sorry, Mr- Andrew," Simon said fixing his mistake.

"Ever early as usual. Have you seen the month's schedule I texted you?" Andrew asked.

"Yes, I have. And I will make sure you will be prepared for the meeting on the 24th," Simon said to his boss.

"What did I do to deserve the best secretary in the world? How do you manage to go to school and be here and still remain your happy self?" Andrew asked with a smile.

Simon blushed at the remark and left saying goodbye and attending to the days' work. Once he was done he did a little studying for an upcoming exam. He also made a few phone calls to friends and family. Once it got to around three o clock Simon got his work-bag and went down to Alicia. Today they went to a Mexican restaurant to eat.

So the day went on and work did as well. It came for Simon to go home and as usual, he said goodbye to his boss and Alicia. He always gets off work at night so he is more wary of strangers. For instance, he was almost assaulted if he didn't run fast enough. That was a lesson he lived and learned.

Simon went on his usual train and there was one other person down there. A giant of a man wearing a short-sleeve shirt and black pants with boots. He had tattoos all over his arms and you could tell he went to the gym a lot. He looked to be the gangster type but nice with tan skin and short brown hair.

"It's rude to stare," he said seeing Simon was staring.

Simon quickly looked away and just minded my own business. Soon another man entered that seemed a little or a lot drunk.

"Hey, there cutie. Ya look a little lonely," he said slurry.

"No, I'm fine, thank you," Simon said to the guy with an awkward smile. But he was still pushing himself towards Simon.

"But ya look sad. A pretty thing like you needs a man like me to keep ya company," The guy said moving closer to Simon and touching him. Now he feels really uncomfortable.

"I'm fine sir," Simon said to try to make him stop.

"Don't go away. Just wanna have a little fun with ya," the guy said grabbing his arm harshly.

"The kid said no. I suggest you shove off," the gangster said to the drunk and the drunk went away to another cart.

"Thank you for that," Simon said to him gratefull.

"It's fine. You need me to walk you home?" he asked.

"No thank you. I can take care of myself," Simon said.

"Well, it's obvious you can't so I am going to," he said sitting down next to Simon. He didn't oppose him and just let the guy walk him to his apartment place.

"Well, thank you for walking me," Simon said thanking him again.

"Don't mention it. The names Gabe," he said casually.

"My name is Simon," responding back.

"Well, see ya around Simon," he said before turning around.

"Bye," Simon said to him before going into the building. He entered his room thinking to himself about if showing where he lived to a stranger. But he could worry about that later. For now, he had to think of ways to organize the different information needed for Andrew's meetings.

As Gabe was walking in the darkness of night, he was thinking of that young guy who was compared to most, small and shy, nice and naive, and one word that came in his mind that made him say aloud and raise an eyebrow was...

"Hm, cute."
