Because,
I’m with everything,
I have everything
But I’m missing you
Hey, hey, hey
Exotic
Sharp, cold air rushed into my nose and filled my lungs.
My fingertips tingled as the biting cold wind snapped its large jaws at my bare skin. The color of the stark, pure, pure white snow piled up irregularly on the ground was mind awakening, dazzling, even. I have seen beauties far superior in complexity before on my planet.
The beautiful, sheer color of white sneered at all that and imprinted itself onto my brain, hard and sizzling permanent.
My eyes followed the dancing snowflakes that flew down from the sky. The clouds were so big, so white and fluffy, and the sky looked so near, that I felt if I climbed onto a roof and reached my arm out a bit, I could sink my teeth into the seemingly delicious white clouds.
Would it be sweet?
I stared in wonder, as the snowflakes landed on my bare hand, and swiftly, melted and disappeared into my skin.
A flinch of shock and wonderment.
The snow had gone into me.
Was it inside me now?
Snow was part of me now?
The mere thought of being part of a beauty was stunning.
A sharp intake of breath next to me snapped me out of my rumination.
“It’s s-so cold!” breathed out Rezia, her lips blue and face awash with whiteness, rubbing her shoulders furiously. “Are y-you going to have us standing here f-forever, mi iës?” she asked with mock politeness, cramming in my title and enunciating it as if it were a curse.
“Good morning!” Before I could come up with a reply, an unfamiliar, baritone cheery voice cut through the chilly atmosphere.
A human walked past us with a small smile. I blinked mentally comparing him to the other humans I had seen. His skin was very wrinkled, like the fabric of a shirt that was stuffed into a corner and not ironed for long.
There was a fluff of white atop the crown of his head like tiny fluffs of cotton on a wrinkled plum.
His lips were tiny and long, and the back of his body was slightly hunched.
He smelled of salt, water, some human food, and-
My eyebrows scrunched up together at the acrid, strong smell that made my head pound. Detergent. I could never understand how humans could stand to use that fluid to wash what they wore every day.
By the time I had registered the fact that the words for him were ‘old man’ and that I should greet him back, he was long gone.
“Iës Eron!” Rezia hissed, turning me around, grabbing me by the shoulder.
I stared as her breath fogged up immediately.
“Wow,” I breathed. “Can you do that again, Rez?”
“I shouldn’t have agreed to this,” muttered Rezia, breathing in and out like a human legendary creature- dragon. “Are you ready for this or not, sir?”
