Turn back time-Hermionice

Set in another universe where everything went a bit different than it actually happened. Mädchen said that she thinks Hermione and Alice dated back in Highschool, so I decided to write about what could've happened if Alice and Hermione, both single-parenting woman, met again. So here you go:

It was 9pm when the Pembrooke's frontdoor opened and a beautiful raven haired woman opens the door. "A-alice?" , her voice cracked. She hadn't seen the blonde haired beauty since she left Riverdale. "I just stopped by to see if you'd need some help with finding a job or whatever since you came back.", Alice blurred out trying to hide the real reason for her visit. Hermione slightly nodded and asked Alice to come inside. Her Alice. She opened a bottle of wine, Alice favorite in Highschool, and handed the blonde woman a glass. "You remember.", Alice whispered. And of course Hermione remembered. How could she forget anything about the woman she loved so deeply back then. Deep down she still does, doesn't she? It's been 20 some years but there's still something about Alice that doesn't let her sleep sometimes. But it was the right decision. At least that's what she tells herself while crying over the past. She wallowed in memories until Alice broke the silence and snatched away her thoughts. "So I know you've never been interested in  journalism or something but I could use a helping hand at the Register since Hal left." Hal left huh? Hermione thought by herself. "You don't need to write the articles or take the interviews but you could be my kinda-secretary. Like answering the phone, handle my shedule and you could take care of the accounts and the finances.", Alice continued. Hermione just nodded, she was just too lost in her thoughts to answer properly. "So meet me at the office at 9 am tomorrow morning, we can discuss the details then." , Alice said before she wrote down her phone number 'just in case'. They talked about their families and how their husbands left them and their children of course, before Alice said that it's quite late and that she'd like to go. Hermione held the door open for her and in the second Alice said her goodbye, Hermione knew she had to do something, so she grabbed Alice's arm. "Alice..", she whispered. Alice heart stopped beating for a second before she faced the raven haired woman in front of her. "What is it, Hermione?" , she asked carefully. "I-I just missed you.." , Hermione stumbled. Alice lowered her gaze. She can't, she just can't have that talk with Hermione right now.  "I gotta go, I can't do this right now. I'm sorry." , Alice answered. Of course she still loved Hermione but she can't risk it all over again. "Ali.. I'm sorry for what happened but please just give me a minute to explain my decision." Ali. Her old nickname. And she didn't know why but she went back inside and gave Hermione a minute to explain. "Okay, so I don't even know where to start but I'm so sorry. I-I was selfish and just thought about what's best for me. You were pregnant and I thought you might want to go back to FP and have your little family back together and it hurt me to see you interacting with him again. And when he asked you to come back to him, I lost myself. I wanted the best for you and your baby, so I thought it would be easier to just end things, let you be happy and try to get over you. I didn't leave you because I stopped loving you because hell no I guess I'll never stop loving you, but I wanted the best for you Alice and I didn't want to risk being hurt if you would've left me for FP. It was selfish and I know that and if I had to choose one thing I regret the most then it is leaving you.." , Hermione said tearing up. "You were the love of my life Ali and damn yes you still are. I never stopped loving you and I regret leaving you more than anything else. I know I deeply hurt you and I don't ask you for forgiveness but you should know that I'm sorry and that you're still the only one that matters.." , Hermione started crying and Alice was speechless. "I do love you Hermione but I'm scared." Hermione understood but felt like she lost her all over agin but then Alice wrapped her arms around her. "But Mione, I'm taking every risk when it comes to you and if this means there's the tiniest chance of getting you back, I'll take it." Hermione was shocked but in a positive way. Their eyes met when Alice ended the hug and their faces just have been inches apart. Hermione leanded closer but didn't connect their lips yet because she wanted Alice to be sure. "I hope this isn't a one time thing now.", Alice whispered and connected their lips.

A few weeks passed and they started getting closer again. They spent a lot of time together and both really had the feeling that they could work things out again so that night, Alice invited Hermione over for a romantic dinner. Both of them were still pretty nervous and spend hours of getting ready and choosing an outfit. Veronica and Betty who already knew what was going on, helped their mom's as much as they could but the older women were just going crazy because both of them wanted to ask the other one for a steady realtionship this evening. "Mom, it's your sixth outfit now, you're just meeting Alice for dinner." , Veronica giggled. "No, it's way more than that and you know that, Mija." , Hermione answered nervously. "Mom, relax and take a deep breath. We both know that she'd even love you when you'd attend in your pj's and we both know she'll definetely will say yes to you "Will you give us a second try"-question. So calm down, wear that outfit and get going, she might be already waiting.", Veronica said leading Hermione out of the door.
Hermione couldn't lose her nervousness, neither could Alice on Elm Street. Mione, as Alice called her, took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell. Alice openend and Hermione stared at her. She was a vision. "I got you tulips because they're your favorite and you're allergic to poenis." , Hermione stumbled and handed her the flowers. "You remembered.. wow, uhm thank you, come in and make yourself comfortable. And you look amazing Mione." , Alice said trying to hide her nervousness even if they've been going out a lot recently. "You don't look bad yourself." , Hermione said slightly blushing before she went inside.

The dinner was beautiful. It was just the way both of them planned it to be and they ended up cuddling on Alice's sofa. "Ali? I wanted to wait but I can't hold it back any longer so.. Would you be ready to give us a second chance and be my girlfriend officially?"  Alice giggled and told her that she wanted to ask the same but that she is glad that she did it first because it gives her the feeling that she didn't plan on leaving any time soon. The raven haired woman kissed her cheek. "So it's a yes?" Alice nodded. "And Mione?" Hermione looked at her prepared for everything. "I love you." , Alice whispered. Hermione's gaze softened and a smile escaped her lips. Alice hadn't said it for 20 some years because she wasn't ready yet but now she was and Hermione couldn't be happier about those three words leaving Alice's lips. "I love you too, Ali."
