Dabi x reader [Lies]

Warning: Angst and mild foul language.

All the clues were there you just didn't want to believe them.

First, it was the way he smelt, like peaches, when he came home. A scent that you nor him purposefully wore. Just thinking that the scent came from someone he killed, you ignored it.

Second, He would come home and leave at odd hours. Thinking that he had to go on a mission you passed it off as nothing.

Next, was when you noticed he had a password on his phone. Something that he never had before. That is when you started to get suspicious.

The last clue that made everything click was when you found a pair of underwear that wasn't yours.

So, what else to do then to comfort him.

"What is this?" You asked while holding the undergarment.

"Underwear." He bluntly answered.

"You are cheating on me?"

"Did you really think you were the only one?" His smirk made you feel sick, It made you want to punch him. To make him hurt like he hurt you.

"What was I supposed to think. Usually when you tell someone you fucking love them then you stay with them not fuck some other bitch." Your voice cracked despite how furious you were.

He shoved his hands in his pockets. "Dollface. What is love?"

There it is. That name you used to love but now it sounded condescending.

You clenched your fist. "Love is what I gave to you. I trusted you. I gave you my heart and you burnt it."

He shrugged, taking one of his hand out of his pocket he lit it on fire. "What can I say burning things is my specialty."

"Did you ever actually love me?"

"No."

You wanted to cry, to scream at him, to call him every name in the book but you weren't going to give him the satisfaction.

So instead you did the last thing that he expected, you smiled, grabbing your shirt where your heart would be. "Despite the way you make me feel, I really hope that you find happiness. I hope that you would be able to experience the same love for someone like I felt for you. Goodbye. Dabi."

You walked away not knowing that everything he said was a bunch of lies.

He didn't cheat. He planted all the clues so you would leave him.

His plan worked but he felt horrible. Seeing the pain in your eyes made his heart break. He really does love you. He loves you so much that this was his only choice to keep you safe. He is a villain and you are a civilian. He didn't want you to get caught or killed. He didn't want you to be caught in the crossfire.
