The portal was huge, wide, fuzzy. He couldn't see straight, everything was spinning as he clutched his chest, falling through into a white void. Then everything went black.
*Cough Cough*
"Sir?"
The troubled monster looked up, his eyes heavy, His ears flopped over to the side. His eyes were deep black with sharp red rings, and he resembled a cat.
he was extremely skinny. He looked as if he hadn't eaten, slept or had anything to drink in a very, very long time. Not to mention his wounds, several scratches, a deep chest wound and many bruises.
"Who are you? What do you want?" He groaned at the young child sitting cross legged next to him. The kid was a skeleton, a Sans to be exact. The child wore a short yellow sweater with a big red upside down heart on it, and a one piece suit underneath, turquoise leg warmers covering his poofy boots. The kid also had a little pink blush on each cheek, big eyes. He was, of course, very short.
"My name is Valen, Valen the skeleton!" The kid yelled. The tired monster flinched and hissed, backing off, the fur on his back rising. "Sh-shut up!"
Valen tilted his head. "Aw....your hurt! Let me help you-" He reached to pet the other monster, who, in turn, bit Valen's hand. Valen jumped away this time. "Ouch-"
"Leave me alone" The hurt monster moaned. He hissed whenever Valen tried petting him, or helping, healing, etc...
Valen finally gave up, sitting a few feet away from the hurt one. He curled up, hugging his legs. "I'm....sorry...if I hurt you, I didn't mean to-"
"Shut the hell up"Valen flinched at the mild language. "I-"
"It's not your fault, it's noone's fault but mine" The monster groaned. His ears flattened and he sat up, revealing his chest. It was a bloody mess, even worse since he was skinny enough for his bones to be poking out. It was infected and nasty, smelled like the good ol' scent of rotting flesh. His clothes were torn, so he was flashing even more of his dark grey fur.
Valen immediately gagged, almost puking. "That's-Horrible! What happened?!"
The monster shrugged. "Just...got into it with the wrong folk I guess" He looked at Valen. "Nothin much really"
"Are you flippin Kidding? That's life threatening! Let me heal that for you" Valen took his paw, his hands glowing green. The monster stayed silent and limp.
"Wha-" Valen paused. "It's not working-why isn't it working?!" Valen cried out after the wound hadn't changed in the least after ten minutes of healing. The hurt Monster shrugged.
"Guess I can't be healed" he shrugged.
Valen huffed. "Guess we're doing this the old fashioned way" he picked the monster cat up, holding him bridal style.
"You're-a lot lighter then I thought you'd be-like ALOT lighter" Valen was confuzzled.
The cat monster laughed. "I knows, guess I've been forgetting to feed myself again haha"
Valen had his many concerns for this monster. "Y'know, I didn't catch your name" He said whilst opening a portal to his universe.
"hm. Name's Caster. W.D Caster" The cat monster stated.
Valen froze. "Uh...Your uh..your a W.D? You don't look like one...you look more like a tall skinny Catty"
Caster shrugged. "Alternate universes are pretty strange, aye?"
Valen nodded. He hopped through the portal and appeared in his own universe.
He stumbled out of the portal, falling onto the grass, Caster rolling out of his arms and into the grass. He then looked up, examining this universe.
The area they were residing in at the moment was a large field covered in tall green grass that waved aimlessly with the wind, which was but a slight breeze. It was night, the stars scattered the night sky brilliantly. The moon was large and silver, emitting a dusty light onto the tips of the grass blades. The air was warm and a bit humid, as if it might rain soon. And it very well might've.
Off in a far away distance was one tiny building, well, not tiny exactly but in house terms pretty small. It was clearly made for one person to live comfortably in. Maybe a guest every now and then, but not a big party or a family get together.
Valen extended his hand to Caster, Sliding it under his arm and grabbing his side, then lifting him upwards. Caster squirmed a bit, but soon stopped. Valen limped under Caster's weight.
Finally, after a decent struggle, the two got into the tiny house. It was just like a usual cabin, furniture and a fireplace(unlit, of course, Valen's not that forgetful) and various little decorations and tiny signs with inspirational messages on them hanging in every corner. Valen stumbled forward and somehow managed to lay Caster on the couch while he got some medical supplies. The two were very silent during the whole thing.
Valen took out a roll of bandages and a bowl of water with a rag in it. He took the rag and squeezed the water onto Caster's wound. He rubbed the wound, cleaning it as much as he could, then started bandaging it. Caster winced a few times but remained quiet.
"mm...There! Done!" Valen grinned, pleased with his work. Caster looked down at his heavily bandaged chest.
"Um-Thanks" He started to stand up off the couch. Valen shoved him back down onto it, very softly.
"Stop it! You need rest!" Valen said while keeping a finger pointed at Caster's little pink nose.
Caster's ears flattened at the finger. "I don't really need it per say-"
"Yes you do! You really do!" Valen gave him a fierce mother glare...Of the dangerous variety.
Caster slunk back. "Fine-fine-I'll rest"
Valen grinned broadly, excited at his win. "Right! I'll cook up some soup for you!" He ran into the kitchen to prepare food.
Caster watched him leave. Then, once he was caught up in food making, Caster took out his SOUL.
it was all black with one clear side to it. He looked up at the ceiling, then flinched, pouring as much magic as possible into his soul, sucking in code and air and turning into magical energy then applying it to his soul. It was suddenly covered in a vibrant dark blue color, the trait of Integrity.
