~Several years earlier, before the Monster Human War~
A young Prince walked through the halls. He was Prince Asgore, second in line to rule the monsters, he was fluffy, kind-hearted and sweet at the age of 16 at this moment. He didn't have too many cares in the world, besides the fact he'd be monster king someday, and his studies, magic studies and all else.
Humans and Monsters usually got along at this time, they found nothing to hate about each other yet. I mean, Monsters had their magic but humans were strong and persistent, and they were training themselves to be better magicians. No problem with that, complete peace.
Prince Asgore turned to the doors of his room. He hesitated going in, especially seeing as the moon was full and large and the weather was fair, there was no need to hide away in his room...but unfortunately he left his coat in there, and his mother would never let him go out without it despite the outdoors being warm out tonight.
Asgore sighed, finally pushing open the big door. He stepped in the room. It was large and roomy, but cluttered with various items. Mostly just flowers and such, he had plenty of vases and loose petals floating around. He had a large mattress with a fine wooden base, and feather pillows placed neatly onto it. The mattress was covered in a large blanket, a heavy one that although it was good at its job of warming him up it was heavy as heck.
He walked over to his wardrobe, which was huge and wooden. He went to open the doors when suddenly two little paws struck out, clasping Asgore's foot. Asgore looked down to see a couple skinny arms wrapped around his leg. He cried out and jumped beck, startled. The little creature crawled out. It was a kitten monster, not much older then 6 years of age. The kitten then stood up on his two backlegs, limping on the left one. He had big eyes that were flickering from blue to red. He did indeed look rather injured.
Asgore looked at him softly. He outstretched his hand then pet the kitten's cheek. The kitten purred, then mewed quickly. Asgore picked him up slowly. "Hey there buddy-" he breathed, rubbing the Kitten's stomach. The little one yelped then started batting Asgore's hand with his paws. Asgore chuckled and stood up, scritching The kitten's neck. This time the little one cried out in pain rather then in play. Asgore paused and examined the neck. There appeared to be a brand on it, all mostly numbers but it did have one thing readable on it-
"Caster-Caster? That your name?" Asgore asked.
The kitten nodded in agreement.
"Oh...interesting name-whoever had you last must've..branded you-" Asgore looked shocked. Caster mewed and tilted his head.
"W-well-your safe here little one-noone's gonna hurt you anymore" Asgore grinned, hugging Caster slowly then standing straight. He turned and walked out of the room.
Caster looked up at Asgore as the young prince wrapped his injuries. He seemed to be trying to read his mind, but alas-it was a feat too much for the young kitten. Asgore chuckled, wrapping Caster's leg up then smiling at him. Caster mewed happily and tackled Asgore, causing him to fall over and drop the bandages everywhere. Caster was then licking Asgore's face.
"Ah! Stop it!" Asgore laughed, pushing Caster off gently. Caster dropped onto the floor, then tried running off but Asgore grabbed him. "Nope! Your staying still till Lady Toriel comes to heal you"
Caster whimpered but stay still. Asgore set him on the couch then covered Caster in a fluffy blanket. Caster sniffed and attacked the blanket, but after awhile he got tired of fighting and he curled up, exhausted.
Asgore made some tea and offered it to Caster. The kitten drank it willingly. When he finished he yawned and lay down. Asgore pet him slowly as he looked off into a distance. Caster soon dozed off.
He could hear blurry noises around him, like cheerful greetings, the silent soothing hum of healing magic sinking into his bones as he fell into a warm, deep sleep.
Then...
WHACK!
"NOOO!" Caster screamed, tears pricking his eyes as he jumped up, panicking. He grabbed his chest, hyperventilating. Everything was foggy, but he heard more rushed voices, hands holding him down, trying to calm him. But he couldn't-he couldn't stay still-
"GET OFF! PLEASE!" Caster sobbed, still in panic.
Suddenly two strong arms embraced him, warm and cold magic touching his soul, bringing the panic down. He was still breathing heavily, but he could feel everything slow down until it just stopped.
"Shsh, its okay, its alright" Asgore's voice whispered softly. Caster couldn't see him, but he could hear him very well. He was very reassuring.
Caster burst into tears, hugging Asgore tightly. Asgore soothed him, rocking him around softly.
It was just a nightmare...
Just a nightmare....
|| Welp sorry if this chap seems rushed-I'll try better on the next one.||
