The man waving in my face seemed young.
Not as young as... I shivered and looked up at the man. He had dark black hair that covered all of his forehead, and fell into his eyes.
His eyes though, were odd. One was a strange aqua color with dark blue details. But the other, his left eye, was covered.
Wrapped in bandages. I blinked, and looked away, trying to focus on something else.
"Can you speak?" The man said, putting his hand down and tilting his head to the side, like a dog.
"Uh, yes. I can speak."
I swallowed. My throat was dry.
"Do you remember anything?"
I stared at him blankly.
"Of course I remember, how could I forget something like that?!"
My voice raised, and I began to shake. The man gasped, and stepped a half step backward.
"You- you remember? But how?"
I blinked at him.
I thought to myself, He acts like I should have forgotten! Like he wants me to pretend it was all a bad dream...
"No one has ever remembered. Except for the others... this is... this is strange."
"Oh, strange is it? I guess you deal with stuff like this all the time!"
I screamed, upset because he was so calm about all of this.
"Well yeah, it's kind if my job. Protect the innocent humans, blah, blah, blah."
He stood up straight and made little puppet movements with his hand. I gasped.
"This- this horror story is normal for you?!"
I was completely taken aback. It was hard for me to understand how someone could do this all the time. How could someone look at hideous monsters such as.... I leaned to the right slightly, and gulped as I looked over the black lump.
I only assumed it was the thing that had attacked me.
"It's completely normal. What isn't normal- is you."
I glared at him, and got to my feet.
"Okay, Mr. Spectacular-Monster-Warrior, I'll be going home now. Never to leave my home again."
I began to move around him, but he grabbed my arm.
"No! You can't leave!"
"Watch me. That thing came from hell, and it almost killed me! You said yourself that you see this stuff all the time but how am I suppssed to just blow it off like another one of your special little victories?!"
"So, your scared. That's why you won't let me explain..."
He relased my arm.
"Sure."
I moved myself around so I was facing him.
"Can I leave?"
"No, I want you to come with me."
"To where? If you haven't noticed, I don't trust you, even if you did save my life."
"To my boss. The leader, Taka. He can help you, and you will be protected. A Torappu has never tried that hard to kill anyone, so there must be something pretty important about you. Oh, and you haven't forgotten anything. So that's something."
"Say I did come with you. What then?"
"Like I said, you would be safe, and you would most likely get to learn everything about the secret alternate universe."
"What about my school?"
"We can deal with that, don't worry."
"I'll be garunteed safety?"
"Yes, garunteed."
"Well..." I looked at my watch. It was 11:34 AM. I had until 8:30 PM, so I brushed myself off and looked at the man.
"Fine, let's go."
