I practice the new cheer routing with Genevieve while there's a knock on the door
"Come in"I say and In walks Lonnie and she smiles and sits on my bed petting kava and she looks at me
"Yes Lonnie?"I question her and she smiles at me
"Let's go get some snacks?"She asks me and I nod
"By the way I love the new hair"I say and she smiles
"Mal did it"She says and I look over at Genevieve
"Go over the routine still"I say to grace and she nods while I grab onto Lonnie's hand and snap and we soon appear infront of the door
"You can't just do that"she says and I laugh
"Genevieve is right It's funny"I say as we walk in and see the four Vk's
"Mal! A bunch of girls want you to do their hair and they'll pay"She says as mal stays quiet and I look down
"You guys are making cookies sweet"I say as me and Lonnie dip our finger in it
"No!"they all yell and we look confused
"Calm down were not gonna double dip"Lonnie says laughing
"Do you guys feel you know different?"Mal asks and we look at each other shaking our head
"Hello foxy the names jay"Jay says flirting with us and I shake my head
Jay's pov
"It could use some chips right Alli?"Lonnie asks and She nods getting the little chocolate called chips
"And those are "Mal questions not entertained
"You know when your mom makes you homemade chocolate chip cookies when your upset or sad"Lonnie says and we all look at her and Aaliyah nudges her
"Shut up"but Lonnie doesn't get the hint and stops when she sees our faces
"It's different from where we're from"mal says and Lonnie gives a awkward smile
"Well yea but I mean I thought villains loved their kids too"Lonnie says and We all look down
"Lonnie now is a good time to actually shush"Aaliyah says trying to change the subject and then looks at us
"I'm sorry about her"I hear Alaia say in my head and I widen my eyes but nod with a small smile
"I'm so sorry guys"she says as a tear falls down her eye and mal swipes the tear into the bowl
"Yea sad this but we have to get these cookies in the oven so goodnight evil dreams"she says pushing them out the room
"Let's make some cookies"she says smirking as we get to work.
NEXT DAY
Aaliyah's pov
"Look it's Mal" One of the girls says as Mal goes to her locker
"Hi, Mal!" Another one chirps as she waves distantly "Love my hair, Mal!" Another yells Jay turns the corner looks at me and then Mal and Jay talk I stand next to Ben, after closing my locker, and Audrey looks frustrated
"Do you think they actually paid for those?"Audrey pouts I zone out and see that jay is flirting with the other girls and I sigh and look down paying attention to Audrey and Ben
"She did it to Jane's hair too and Fairy Godmother's not happy about it" I laugh at what happened to my friend
"That was funny though"I say and Ben nods Also laughing
"What's the harm?" Ben asks going back to Audrey
"It's gateway magic!" Audrey fights pouting louder
"Sure, it starts with the hair Next thing you know, it's the lips and the legs and the clothes and then everybody looks good and then... where will I be?"
"Same place you've always been in auradon "I say sarcastic she rolls her eyes and pouts bigger and Ben looks like he's ready to give up.
Ben sighs
"Listen, Audrey..." She recovers, ignoring whatever Ben was about to say
"I will see you at the game after my dress-fitting for the coronation okay?"she grins and I roll my eyes "Okay" He reluctantly says giving her what she wants
"Bye, Bennyboo" She sashays away air kissing his cheek"Bye"He mutters and I shake my head at him
"What I can-Hey Bennyboo!" Mal calls and I laugh "Hey"Jay smiles at me and I look at him
"Hi"I say giving him a small smile
"I just made a batch of cookies Double chocolate chip, do you want one?" Mal offers
"Oh, I, uh, I've got a big game"He explains acting like a little boy again I smack my head into my hand "I don't eat before a big game But thank you so, so much. Thank you Next time Next time"He smiles "No, yeah I completely understand 'Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains.'" Mal responds moving her hand holding a plastic baggie.
Ben looks at me for help and I raise my hands in surrender
"Oh well ..more for me I guess.."Mal says about to eat a cookie before Ben take it and eats it
"They're good. They're great! They're amazing!" He laughs "They're, uh... I mean, they're chewy and, and you know, they..." He stumbles over himself and I shake my head
"Is that walnuts?" She nods and Ben smiles
"I love walnuts I mean, uh, you know, the... The chocolate... The... the chocolate... The chocolate chips are... I'm sorry. Um... Uh, they're... They're warm and soft. And they're sweet..." He stops I put a hand on his arm and shake him a little, but he's still staring at Mal
"Mal, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?" He asks adoringly, about to take another bite. Mal takes it away from him before he can though and Jay walks up
"How you feeling bro?" Jay claps him on the shoulders and asks him
"I feel... I feel... I feel like..." Ben stutters
"Like singing your name Mal, Mal!" Mal covers his mouth, and hands the cookie to Jay who looks surprised about how much of the cookie he ate and I look confused
"Ben you okay?"I ask and he nods smiling
"I'll be back"he says and I just nod thinking about how weird my best friend is acting.
Jay's pov
I watch as Aaliyah walks away and look at Mal
"So these will work on her right?"I ask and she nods
"It worked for Ben so it'll work for her too"she says and I nod walking away to catch up
" Aaliyah!wait up!"I say catching up to her she turned and smiles
"Hey"I say with a smile
"Hi ready for the game?"she asks and I nod
"Do you want a cookie?"I ask and she shakes her head
"Sure"she says and I mentally sigh and hand her one she takes a bite out of it and soon finishes it
"How do you feel?"I ask her and she nods
"It would've been better with more chocolate chips instead of walnuts I don't like them that much"she says and I nod
"Why didn't it work?"I think to myself and she looks at me
"Why didn't what work?"she asks confused and I mentally smack myself because I forgot she can read minds
"Oh it's cause uhm..this is my way of Uh..asking you on a date"I say coming up with a excuse and she laughs
"Your way of asking me out is with a cookie?"She asks and I nod rubbing my neck
"It was a failed attempt huh" I ask and she shakes her head
"It was cute but You can just ask me Jay I don't bite "she says and I nod
"Okay well Princess Aaliyah will you go on a date with me?"I ask her and she smiles at me
"I'll think about it"she says and I nod
"Wait what?"I ask and she smirks
"I'll let you know after the tourney game"she says with a smile and I nod smiling back at her
"I'll be cheering you on so make me proud Jay"She says and I nod
"Will do"I say as she walks away with her friends and I go back to Mal
"So?"She asks
"She are the cookie but she seems fine"I say and Mal raises a eyebrow
"What do you mean?"She asks
"It's like the cookie didn't phase her"I say and Mal nods
"Well maybe it would kick in later today"She says I nod and head to the tourney field.
