daniel takes a gulp from his warm coffee as looks out the window of the small cafe at the falling snow. it was a couple weeks before christmas and the whole town has been decked out in all sorts of christmas decorations. he breathes in the smell of coffee and mint, the scents filling the air in the small cafe. it was one of daniels favourite places to go in town as it gives him joyous memories and the warm happy feeling.
he leans down and pulls his ipad out of his small backpack and lays it on the booth table in front of him. he also pulls out his apple pen from the bag and unlocks his device. he takes a sip of his coffee and looks around him for inspiration. he would usually find something to draw around the cafe but today he wanted to try something different. (no pun intended)
daniel loved to draw. he found it relaxing and it took away his spare time easily. he loved to help other people too. he was known for his hard work and his kindness. daniel loved to give and not to receive, that's why he loved the christmas season. he loved to give back to his family and friends and loved to give people his time and effort. the cafe was never really busy. it was a homey place. daniel was a usual customer along with a few others who he had become great friends with. the cafe was always nice and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. one of the reasons why he loves the place so much is the lynette. she was the little old lady that owns the place. she was always welcoming of new customers and loved the usuals. she was like daniel. she loved to give to people and work hard for others. she is one of the bubbliest people daniel knows.
unfortunately for daniel, nothing had really sparked his interest around the coffee shop. he sighed as he looked outside again, gawking at the tons of decorations in the window of the shop across the road. he mentally wowed at the tinsel that wrapped around the poles and the decorated christmas trees in the window. his thoughts were interrupted by the chime of the sweet bell that hung above the door, signalling that someone has entered the cafe.
daniel looks over to the door and sees a man around daniels age. he looks around the cafe and walks up to the counter. daniel had never seen this man before, but he was very interested. he wore a thick black jacket with a red beanie and sunglasses. he had a backpack slung loosely on his shoulders. he wore skin tight black jeans and a pair of doc martens to tie off the look. daniels lips curl upwards to a smile at his appearance as he orders at the counter. daniel couldn't help but to notice his sharp jawline and tan skin, flushed of pink by the cold nipping breeze. the man pays and takes a seat on the other side of the room. he pulls out a laptop from his backpack and turns it on. daniel takes a sip from his coffee and realises that he is staring as the intriguing man types away on his computer.
daniel suddenly has an idea. he looks down at his device and picks up his pen. he swivels his pen in his slim fingers a few times before biting his lip. he takes a glance at the man before he smiles and starts to draw out a sketch.

daniel glances at the man one last time before signing his name on the digital drawing. he decided to draw the man as a gift. he felt as though he wanted to do something nice for the man so he insisted on drawing him. he looks between the drawing and the man a few times before nodding his head in succession. he takes a sip from his coffee and saves the drawing, not wanting to lose it. he stands, grabs his ipad and his coffee and makes his way over to the man typing on his computer.
"excuse me?" he says, tapping the mans shoulder. he looks up at daniel and takes his attention off the screen. the man had discarded his sunglasses beforehand and daniel was met with the most beautiful pair of light green eyes he has ever seen. the man smiles at him before daniel continues.
"uh i hope you don't think i'm creepy or anything but i did a drawing of you." daniel says and shakily hands him the device. the man takes it from him and stares at it in awe. he examines the vibrant colours that radiate from the screen, the perfect replication of all of his curves and features. the mans eyes widen at the exhilarating masterpiece.
"this is amazing!" the man says. "truly incredible!"
"thank you." daniel thanks, staring at his boots. he tries to hide his blush by sending him a sweet smile. "take a seat, please." he says, gesturing to the red cushioning seat in front of him. daniel awkwardly takes a seat and places his warm coffee in front of him. his leg bounces instantly and his shoulders rise up nervously. "i-im daniel by the way." he says, hating himself for stuttering.
"oh i'm jonah."
daniel returns the sweet smile he was given, exhaling relaxingly.
