prince corbyn is interrupted his ponders by a knock on his chamber door. "you may enter." he says, running a hand through his fluffy blonde hair. jonah, the princes manservant, enters a moment later.
"your father would like to speak with you in his chambers, my lord." jonah speaks, his arms placed behind his back. corbyn arises from his seat and rolls up a scroll he was reading and walks toward his chamber door. he smiles at jonah.
"did he specify why?" he asked him. jonah shook his head.
"no he didn't, my lord." jonah spoke. corbyn rolls his eyes.
"i hate when you call me that" corbyn mentions. "and plus, no ones gonna kill you if you call me corbyn." jonah smiles at corbyn. the two have developed a close relationship after all the years of jonah serving the prince of cathal.
corbyn knocks of his fathers chamber door, entering after he hears his fathers affirming voice come from the other side.
"ah my son, take a seat." his father gestures to the seat sitting across from him, gazing down at the courtyard below him. corbyn takes a seat and huffs out his chest.
"now son, as yourself and i get older, you will need to become king one day as you are the heir to the throne." his father begins.
"as a king, you will need allies and will need to be in peace with the surrounding kingdoms, forming bonds with kingdoms for extra knights for battle. creating loyalty and trust with these neighbouring kingdoms are stronger with some sort of unity."
corbyn furrows his brows at his fathers statement. "what exactly are u suggesting?"
his father inhales, looking his son in the eyes. "marriage."
corbyns eyes widen at his suggestion. "marriage?!"
"yes son. union through marriage will ensure trust with a kingdom." his father says, returning his gaze to the kingdom below him. corbyn is still left in a state of slight shock.
"i have arranged for you to spend a few days with zach herron, the prince of sionn as our kingdom has had a close bond with them for decades. you shall get to know him before marrying him." his father smiles.
"how come i haven't had a say in this?" corbyn questions, still a little bit taken aback. "i'm old enough to make my own decisions."
"trust me, you will like him and he is very handsome." he tries to comfort his son. "also just be thankful that i didn't tell you you have to marry a woman." he smiles. corbyn slumps back in his chair, taking his fathers thought into consideration. corbyn ponders for a moment. he has heard a lot of great things about the prince; his kindness, bravery and love for his kingdom. maybe marrying him won't be bad at all.

after a few days, the servants and citizens of the kingdom have been buzzing around in preparation for the arrival of the prince and his parents. finally, the day had come. corbyn would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. he definitely didn't show it though.
