Part 5

Eric had woken up on his bed with Jamie sleeping silently on his shoulder.  He got out of bed trying not to wake  up Jamie.  When he got out of bed he looked at his clock, it was 7:53am.  He walked into his own personal bathroom, the door was next to the computer, to take a shower.  He took off his shirt and jeans which he had slept in the night before. He got in the shower and turned on the water.  He stood there and let the water hit his body as he waited for it to warm up.  When it was warm, he started to relax and then what Jamie had said last night sunk in. She had said that the kiss was...incredible.  He wasn't sure if that meant that Jamie loved him or at the very least liked him.  Or if she meant it.  He decided that he was going to find out in the car when he brought her to lunch with Brian.

Eric was bringing Jamie back to the city.  It had only been 10 minutes since they left the house.  Eric drove in silence while Jamie stared out the window watching the rain that the weatherman had promised fall down.  All Eric was thinking about was Jamie and what he was going to say to her.  Jamie was thinking about Brian and what she was going to say to Brian.

"So..." Eric said breaking the silence.

"Yeah?" Jamie said still looking out the window.

"Um...that kiss last night....you said it was uh 'incredible'.  Did you really mean that?"

Jamie blushed as she remembered the kiss, "Th-the kiss?" Jamie stuttered "Incredible...um yes I did mean it."

"So you liked it?"

Jamie was now looking at him "well of course."

"So...um do you uh like me?" Eric said quickly, then hatted himself for the choice of words he was going to use.  He just didn't know what else to say, "Like, like, like me?" He sighed in defeat of his childish words thinking Jamie wouldn't like him anymore because of them. 

"Uh.." Jamie stared at him blankly, "Um...yes I do...like, like you"

"You do?" Eric said with a hint of surprise in his voice.

"Yeah."

"Enough so that if I pulled over and leaned in to kiss you, you would lean in too and want to kiss me back?"

"I want to kiss you forever.' Jamie answered truthfully.  She knew it sounded crazy espcially for just meeting the guy this week, but something about the kisses made her know what she wanted.  Him.

Eric pulled over the car and leaned in towards Jamie.  Jamie leaned in too.  then they kissed their third kiss.  The kiss was so perfect that both of them that they both forgot that they were in the Explorer on the back roads somewhere in downstate New York.  The light drizzle that was coming from the sky turned into a heavy downpour. Then the kiss was cut short by a clash of thunder that made Jamie jump.

"Wow" was all Eric could say.

There was another clash of thunder which made Jamie remember where they were.  "we'd better get going."

"Uh yeah...sorry" Eric said while pulling back onto the road. 

They drove for a little while and as they reached the city Jamie noticed a shiny sleek black car with dark tinted windows pull up behind them.  It followed them until they reached the restaurant.  When Eric pulled into the parking lot it kept going straight, but it seemed to slow down as it passed the restaurant.  Jamie shivered and got that paranoid feeling she got in the hotel yesterday morning. 

"You okay?" Eric asked.  He had not noticed the car following them. 

"Yeah." Jamie looked at the clock it was 12:10 "uh I better go before Brain starts so worry."

"Okay" Eric paused, "Can I kiss you?"

Jamie smiled but didn't answer him.  She leaned in and kissed him.  It was a short quick kiss.

"Do you want me to pick you up?" He asked smiling. 

"Uh..yeah"

"Okay, I'll just wait here."

"Kay" Jamie said while getting out of the car and into the pouring rain.  "See ya." she said quickly then closed the door.

She ran inside of the restaurant.  When she walked in she started to search for Brian but she didnt have to search long.  She saw Brian sitting at a table meant for two.  He had short Black hair and light blue eyes.  He had a worried look on his face that relaxed, though not a lot, when he saw Jamie.  Jamie walked over and sat down in front of him.

"Hi" She said

"Jamie?" Brian asked.  The girl he knew had changed a lot in these three years. 

"Yeah..."

There was a silence until Brian blurted out, "Where were you?! I was worried!"

"I was only 10 minutes late..."

"A lot can happen in ten minutes."  Brian still had a worried look on his face.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Oh!" Brian said realizing something, "You haven't watched the news lately, have you?"

"Um I watched the weather last night" Jamie replied "But what does that have to do with anything?"

"Can we talk somewhere else?"

"Like where?"

"In my car."

Jamie sighed and said "fine."

No one had ordered anything so they got up and left.  they walked out to the parking lot. Jamie looked over to Eric's black Explorer. Eric was about to get out of the car but Jamie gave him a glance telling him to stay, but he didn't listen.  He got out of the car and walked over to Brian and Jamie.

"Where are you going?" Eric asking in a demanding and protective voice.

"Jamie do you know this guy?" Brian asked

"yeah she does.  And you're the douche I talked to on the phone."

"I thought your voice sounded familiar."

"Yeah, but that doesn't answer my question.  Where are you going?  Where are you taking her? Eric asked once again.

"I don't think that is any of your business"

As the two kept bantering at each other, Jamie was just standing there.  She wasn't thinking about anything.  She was just staring at the busy street in front of her through the rain.  While she was staring she saw that same small black car with the dark tinted windows pass the restaurant and slow down to a stop because of the long line of cars in front of it.  It was almost as if it was planed for the car to stop in front of her.  the driver of the car rolled down the passenger side window.  The driver was man with short golden brown hair and a clean cut shave.  he was wearing dark sunglasses, which made no sense because the sun was being covered by dark gray, almost black, rain clouds.  But because of the glasses Jamie couldn't make out the color of his eyes.  He pulled down his shades just enough so he could see Jamie and Jamie could ss where his eyes were looking.  He looked directly at Jamie.  As he looked at her a small evil smile took place on his face.  Jamie's blank stare was now replaced with a look of fear.  He seemed to let out a small laugh then he looked at Brian.  he seemed to recognize him.  Then he looked at Eric.  Eric had been holding Jamie's hand.  He looked back at her and let out an even bigger smile, and even bigger evil smile.  then he rolled up his window and began driving along with the traffic that had started to move again.  Jamie stood there for a minute to let it sink in.  When Brain asked if she had seen the news, he was asking if she knew about him.  That he was out.  And he was the same guy in the car.  He was Matt Webber.
