Chapter 10

NIALL'S POV

I was paralyzed, but trembling with terror. I had to blink a couple of times to realize what just happened.

She fell right in front of me..

Her lifeless body plunged into the water..

Then, I did the only thing that I could do...

I striped off my jacket and my shoes as quick as possible. I dived into the water with horrible thoughts of never finding her. I can't just lose her when she's the one that I wanted to find!

The water was ice- cold, but it was the last of my worries. I was panick- stricken while frantically trying to find her. I can't see shit underwater at night!

What if she sank too far down already?!

What if I couldn't save her?!

As these thoughts ran through my head, I felt like I lost a chunk of my existence. I can't even explain the feeling, but it was too harsh to bare.

Just then, I see something flicker in the corner of my eye. I turned my body quickly to find an arm sinking into the depths of the almost black ocean.

I swam as fast as I could. I need to save her. I can't let her die!

She can't die!

She can't leave so young!

I won't let her!

I had to make my last stroke really strong, or else it will be to late. So, with all the power in my muscles I swam and grabbed her wrist with only seconds to spare.

Then, I quickly swam up to the surface and put her on my shoulder. She wasn't making any noise....

"Help! Is anyone there?! A girl fell in the water! I need someone to save her! Can anyone hear me! Please!" I yelled. But, there was no one in sight. Not a single soul was around.

So, I patted her back to see if she can cough back to life. Nothing....

I tried again with more force. Silence....

After a few seconds, I hear her gasp and cough frantically. A flush of relief fell over me and I felt a strange awareness inside me that I can't describe. Just gaining her back again made me realize I had a feeling that I never felt in my whole twenty years of life.

I patted her back and she went back to reality and figured out what happened. And she looked at me with wonder.

"Niall.......did you...did you...jump in after me?" She sId slowly trying to comprehend everything. I couldn't help but smile and nod.

"You saved me. I would have died down there if you didn't help me. Thank you so much. I will never let myself forget this. Ever." She said into my eyes. Mia secured her arms around my neck and put her head in my shoulder like before.

I felt as if my legs might break out if I keeping trying to keep us afloat. So, I helped her swim to one of the dock's poles and we clung on together, holding each other's hands. Then, the wind picked up slightly and the breeze didn't help the fact that we were extremely wet and in an ocean.

Brad came onto the dock to look for us I guess. I bet he was as confused as hell.

"Brad! We're down here!" I yelled. He looked down and as I said before, he had the most confused look on his face. I wouldn't blame him though. You don't go to an In-N-Out and come back to see your friends hanging on a dock pole........unless your into that.....

"How did you guys get down there?!" He asked.

"Mia, fainted and fell in. Then, I went in after her. So, how was the food?"
