a month after soyi's horrible break up, she was still crying. gaon and mira kept trying to tell her that she was way better off without an asshole like him (gaon's words).

so, now she was standing in front of the school gates, all alone. gaon had taken a trip to the united states to visit her sick grandmother and wouldn't be at school for the next 2 weeks. mira, on the other hand, was forced into doing a science project with sejun. she was steaming mad with the situation but since their grades depended on their cooperation, the two had to work on the project before and after school hours.

"i'm fine" ran soyi's internal monologue

"he's just a dumb, stupid boy after all.... great and now i'm talking to myself!".

shaking her head, soyi entered the school grounds, filling with a confusing puddle of distinguishable confidence and nervousness.

"but why does gaon need to go for two weeks... yeah america is far away but still." she found herself standing in her class, in front of her desk, where there was a boy occupying it. it was donghyuck, one of the annoying kids in their class who found it their life's purpose to annoy the teacher.

"umm excuse me, that's my seat"

he looked up at her, with a cheeky grin plastered on her face. she felt her blood pressure rise, thinking about the times when sejun would scold other guys who tried to irritate her. she shook her head and looked back at the boy. she had to fight her own battles now.

"dude, can you sit somewhere other than on my table. the school provides chairs too, you know."

donghyuck opened his mouth to reply, probably an ugly retort, but their teacher then walked in. she stared at the two of them with a slight glare before asking him to sit next soyi. her face turned sour. she felt annoyed that gaon wasn't there with her. but she couldn't lie to herself when she turned to look at him.

under all that attitude of his, he was undeniably handsome. his brown hair complemented his hazel eyes and his lips were soft just like his nose; a sharp contrast to his jawline. he could serve as eye-candy for now.

she was rudely awakened from her thoughts by said boy, who was now facing her now.

"AY soyi, did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"

she rolled her eyes, trying to hide the stupid smile that was stretching on her face. she turned to pay attention to the teacher when he tapped her shoulder for attention.

soyi tried ignoring him, it was really part of her plan. but...

"yo soyi are you from tennessee, cause you are the only ten i see"

he was foiling her well thought out plan by continuously pulling out shitty pick-up lines from who knows where.

"s to the o to the yi! there are 21 letters in the alphabet, oops i forgot that u r a q t"

she began giggling, she couldn't take it anymore. they were too cheesy and overused. he joined her, snickering softly to himself.

they ended up spending the entire class spitting out ridiculous pick-up lines, and disturbing the teacher the entire time.

"he's not that bad", she thought to herself.

soyi soon forgot about her problems; she was having too much fun to worry about anything.

++++

when the bell rang for lunch, she bid donghyuck bye for now, and wandered in search of mira.

she found her almost immediately at the doorway of her class, having an animated conversation with renjun and jeno.

"those three always seem to have fun together" soyi thought
