Nathan felt a zap in his backbone when he knew Colby almost spilled the beans to Keith.

"What a fucker," he whispered to himself as he tied his shoelaces preparing for the stamina practice, laughing at the same time. It was a part of the spelled promise; you'd be alerted when the deal was in treachery.

He wondered how Keith and Colby could get together at the moment. Maybe Colby wanted to invite Keith over to the practice and somehow got his mouth running like usual. Well, it wasn't like he didn't expect this before.

Previously this morning, Nathan had run to hang out at Dan's place with Rick. They were in the TV room up the Main House from the beginning of the day since he left his house after breakfast. Rick, being the potato couch that he was, supplied Nathan with a good dosage of Netflix shows, marathon through seasons and seasons of it. He needed some time away from Keith because he knew he'd fuck up and seal their mate bond if he wasn't being careful enough. Cuddling Keith to sleep yesterday was a close call—he swore he had been certain a few times he would kiss the fuck out of Keith during their night together ...

Only Nathan knew the night was perfect ... he couldn't picture a more heavenly situation, having to hold his mate dearly right in his arms like he did yesterday. He wanted to do it again, but stopped contemplating around the idea of it once he realized it was still impossible for now.

Well, heaven itself was impossible, wasn't it? Nathan thought if he ever got to have body-to-body action with Keith, he would die out of extreme bliss.

"Buddy," Rick's super deep voice broke the silence. "Are you okay? You seem restless."

Rick apparently was talking to his little brother. Since he had said it, Nathan only realized that Callan did look a bit out of character lately. The kid usually talked a lot but he'd been nothing but silent since the past few days. Nathan had long been too comfortable being able to control the sense of mood around him—he could actually choose the amount of thoughts to enter his head now.

Nathan closed his eyes and felt something flowing inside his chest when he opened up to feel what Callan was having in his mind. Shortly after, Nathan sort of regret it.

There was something that kept on bugging Callan.

His eyes still shut, he caught glimpses as fast as lightning flashing through his vision of mind—he couldn't quite catch it, but it seemed to be the image of a man.

The visual was gone too soon for Nathan to pin it to his memory, but he was certain it came from the inside of Callan's head. Nathan had never quite seen things before like that; previously it had only been storms of emotions coming from others to flood his head and sensibility. Nathan shut his head, closing the lid of his psychic abilities, slowly pushing Callan out of his mind.

"Are you okay, dude?" It was Nathan's turn to ask.

"Uh ... uh, I'm fine ... I'm just ..."

Callan couldn't even finish himself; he kept on pacing around the hallway of the house. Nathan wanted to get to know more about Callan and his condition, but he knew better move now because they were quite late for the stamina practice. By the time he was wandering around, Rick was already up and ready at the front door, waiting for him. He hesitated at first, wanting to call Callan over for the last time but decided to abandon that thought. Upon leaving the hall, he stole a quick glance at a mirrored wall there, looking at himself. Is this good enough for Keith? He smiled, wondering if Keith would love the sight of his bare torso under the daylight.

As Rick and Nathan moved along the neighborhood to the Main House, Jeff and Stanley came to join them. Nathan didn't need to ask about Jace's whereabouts since the answer might be obvious. Deep inside, he wished Jace and Jordan would be there as well, because watching the two of them could be entertaining.
