Pulling Heart Strings~ Obi-Wan Kenobi Fanfic

part 1

"Obi-Wan, where are you?" I exclaimed through my comlink.
"We are in some nightclub downtown. We've managed to track the assassin to here"
Without realising, he still had his comlink on as I could hear everything he said to a death stick seller
"Twat" I laughed, only for me to lose all communication. I was now standing in the living quarters as Padme had managed to go back to sleep. I paced myself up and down the room anxiously. Boy, I hope they're alright.

I caught up with my padawan as she, Obi-Wan and Anakin made their way into the council room.
"There you are, I began to worry" I placed my hand on my padawans left shoulder.
"I'm fine Master. But the assassin, however, isn't" I gave my padawan a puzzled look, then I turned my gaze to Obi
"Before she, well he, could reveal who hired her, she was shot with this" He reached into the inside pocket of his robe and pulled out a dart of some sort, handing it to me.
"Hmm, looks unfamiliar. Maybe Dex could help?" I handed it back to him, and he shot me a smile
"That was exactly what I had in mind"

The meeting was short and straight to the point. Both the padawans were to escort the senator back to her home planet of Naboo, with Malia to work with the security, and Obi and I were to track down the bounty hunter and the mysterious dart.  I could tell straight off the bat that Obi-Wan wasn't exactly happy with sending Anakin to Naboo, but it had to be done.

Both I and Obi-Wan walked with Master Windu and Yoda walked through the main halls of the temple, with Obi explaining his concerns. Over the years, I've learned to ignore their conversations but now, I couldn't.
"Master Skywalker, do you you think that your brother is ready?" Master Windu questioned me, stopping me in my path.
"It isn't up to me to decide what he is and isn't capable of doing. But i agree with Mater Obi-Wan, he's too unpredictable so to speak" Obi looked at me, smirking.
Master Yoda and Master Windu walked off.
"I'm glad you can see where I'm coming from Theala" We both faced each other, and the butterflies kicked in.
"Yes, well I can see where you are coming from. He can be... let's just say he is still a child" We both laughed as Obi patted my shoulder and walked off, leaving a lasting impression on my shoulder. I was starting to become conflicted with my own feelings. Shaking away my thoughts, i went to go find Malia, and to make sure she was ready. 

I managed to find her in her quarters, packing a few things.
"My dear padawan, are you sure you're ready for this?" She turned to face me, not realising that I had let myself in.
"Yes Master, I believe i am. It can't be that hard, can it?" She smiled, then continued to grab her tunic out of her wardrobe.
"Now young one, do you have everything?"
"Sure do" 

I led her down to the transport to farewell her and my brother. Obi was already down there. We both set the rules for our padawans, as Padme said her goodbyes.
"Now Ani, do as you are told, you hear me?" I questioned my brother. 
"Don't worry, I will" We quickly embraced, and I gave him a quick peck on his cheek before fluffing up his hair as he laughed.
"Well get to the bottom of this plot quickly m' lady. You'll be back here in no time" Obi-Wan exclaimed, and Padme motioned her gratitude. As they departed, Obi-Wan grabbed me by my elbow, pulling me aside.

"We must go and pay Dex a visit. We have to get to the bottom of this quickly."
"I agree. I fear that something...unwanted may happen" Obi looked at me with a puzzled look
"Like what?"
Sighing, I held his hands in mine
"Nothing, just a feeling that I get" I smiled reassuringly.

We arrived at Dex's diner, one of his workers called out to him, saying that we had turned up.
"Obi-Wan! Theala!" Dex called from behind the counter.
"Hello Dex"
"Take a seat, ill be right with ya" We took a seat as we were offered some juice, to which we excepted. The music boomed and Obis attitude changed to a very happy feeling.
Dex came over, giving us each a hug.
Dex explained that the dart belonged to the cloners over on Kamino, which neither one of us had heard of. They sat and talked for a bit, with myself joining in now and then. As we parted ways with Dex, I looked at Obi and laughed.
"You should come here more often"
He looked at me and smiled.
"Dex is a dear friend, you know that. Now, let's go to the Jedi temple library and see if we can track this 'Kamino' system down."
