After that situation, my dad left. He kept contact with me, but as far as my mom ? nope..so now its just me, her and Nyla.

"You called me? " I said walking into my moms room

"Ima need you to watch Nyla while Im gone. Its some cash in the jar behind the tv if yall need anything okay?"

" Dang how long you gone be gone?" I asked

"umm..I' ll be back Friday..", she sounded like she wasn't sure and from the looks of it, she'd be gone longer.

I get so aggravated when she does this.

*I turned over and right before i went to sleep, my mama opened my door*

   I woke up at about 5 cause Nyla had a bad dream. After i put her back to sleep, i heard a car door closed. I walked to the curtain and drew it back just enough to see outside. My mom met this man at a black Escalade type truck, he had gotten out the passenger seat. She started talking to him and she slipped him a thick golden envelope. She pointed directly where i was peeping from, but i knew they couldn't see me. He nodded his head And she proceeded to get in the car, leaving him standing there. The car drove off and he begin walking to the house. What just happened?!

I heard the front door close and footsteps started getting closer. I froze in fear and played sleep. I heard my door open, and i slightly cracked my eyes. There stood  the figure from the driveway, standing in my doorway. He snickered and whispered
