I opened my back door and stepped into darkness. As I felt the warm sand slip between my toes and closed my eyes. Just for a few moments, lights danced across my vision, giving me a feeling of warmth, and a little of something else. What was it?
I opened my eyes, to see a bright, white light, not the sun – it was brighter but cooler – yet it was calm and entrancing, and surrounded me with inner warmth. The weather was breezy, almost as if the clouds and wind were feeling playful. Almost as if something good had happened. Like a child resieveing a lolly-pop, or girl being bought flowers.
The wind played and danced with my hair and clothes, and I danced with her, laughing. The sound of my laughter echoing around the lonely cove beach set the swallows to singing. Our sound mixing with that of the leaves of the palm trees was relaxing. And I knew that something good had happened, just what was it?
I lay down on the beach and watched the clouds passing by. The colour of the sky was slowly changing. Five minutes before now the light was a bright white, and now it was slowly changing to an orangey colour. I could hear the soft ‘whoosh’ of the waves against the shore, slowly helping me drift off into a soft oblivion. But I knew I had to stay awake. Something good had happened and I knew that soon, soon I was going to remember what.
I sat up as the sky began to change colour again, this time from a vibrant coral orange, to a soft pastel pink. I watched the skyline as the clouds waved in and out of one another and began disappearing and re-appearing behind the water.
Suddenly, the scene changed, the clouds started clearing and colour of the sky changing yet again. I stood up and moved forward towards the water. I looked down to see even the colour of the water changing, as I walked in to the ocean.
All of a sudden the Swallows burst into song and started fluttering towards me. I looked around to see the leaves on the trees around me being blown in my direction – like they were telling me something. To go forward maybe?
The whole atmosphere was gravitating towards me. The water changing at my touch, the birds singing for me, the palms waving me on. It was all like a dream but I knew it was real. I moved further and further cool water, letting it pull me in. The sky was changing colour more rapidly now. From a pink to a golden yellow. The clouds were forming themselves into a shape, telling me something. I was so close now; I could almost touch the feeling!
I looked up just as the clouds and sky had formed their shape; a golden heart and I remembered The One, My One! I knew what I was feeling!
I was in love!

Authors note: this was a school project that we had to do. we had to imagine we were walking out our back door and on to a beach. we had to use light, sound, colour ect. to portray our feelings! i got 80% for this, so i did ok!
Edit - two years later:
i've edited this a little :) not to much though.
