Yandere Symbiote
Ch.2: Enter Ripper
The next morning I woke up in a rather peculiar location. I was wrapped up to my chin in a
dark blue cocoon, hanging from the ceiling by a large spider-like web; best sleep I've
ever had. Yawning, and stretching my neck muscles, I'd awoken the creature within me.
"Good morning, partner.", greeted the bubbly symbiote with diabetes inducing sweetness.
"Good morning. Wow that dream I had was amazing."
"I'm glad you liked it, I made it just for you."
I had no idea symbiotes could do that either. Her powers never cease to amaze me.
"Listen, I've been thinking about last night, y'know, when we were jumping around through town. I was wondering if we could...come up with a name for ourselves."
"A name?"
"Yeah, something we can call ourselves every time we take that form. How about...Ripper?
I've always liked that word."
"Ripper? Ripper...RIPPER! I love it!", the symbiote shouted in complete and utter happiness.
"Really? That's great, I glad you think so."
"A name. He gave us a name.", swooned the happy symbiote to herself, "Something that's
only between us, something that we can share. I must be so special to him." I couldn't
help but notice that the cocoon was getting warm and tingly.
"Are you okay, Ripper?", I asked my new friend, using her new name.
"I'm in Heaven."
Just then, I heard a knock on my door. It was my mother.
"Vincent.", my mother called out, "Come on down, it's time for breakfast."
"Coming, mom.", I said back. But first I had to get out of this...cocoon? As I was talking
to myself, the cocoon was vanishing, transmuting into clothing, and giving me the room I
needed to stretch out my entire body. The dark blue matter had changed into a black long
sleeved shirt, with a picture of one of the symbols from my symbiote suit over my right
breast. I was also wearing tan cargo pants with a black belt around my waist. Apparently
symbiotes also had the ability to disguise themselves as any form of clothing that it or
the host wants. It was both amazing and efficient, never again having the need to look for
a proper set of clothing. After being lowered to my bed, the web itself vanished into my
clothes as well.
"How did I ever get along without you?", I chuckled to Ripper, "C'mon, let's go get
breakfast."
"Not yet. I have one more surprise for you."
One more surprise? What did she mean? For some reason I felt compelled to look into my
mirror, so that's what I did. Gazing at my reflection, I could've sworn that my jaw hit
the ground. It was like I was looking at a completely different person. My arm and leg
muscles looked thicker and more toned, and skin was so clear, free of any blemishes that
had plagued me in the past. I guess that "bonding" that Ripper kept mentioning had really
cleaned out my pores. I was speechless; I had to put my hand on the mirror just to make
sure that I wasn't still dreaming.
"Vincent!", shouted my mother once again, "Breakfast! Now!"
"Oh, sorry!", I shouted back, breaking out of my trance, "I'm coming!" I rushed down to
the kitchen and sat at my usual spot at the table. My breakfast was composed of two
toaster waffles, some garlic sausage, a bowl of grapes, and a glass of milk.
"Say, Ripper. I was wondering something.", I said to her inside my head, so I wouldn't
create confusion in my parents or little sister. "What do symbiotes eat?"
"We live off of our host's adrenaline and emotions."
"I see. So...how do my emotions taste?"
"Marvelous...", replied Ripper, her voice filled to the brim with bliss, "You're
like an addiction to me."
That sounded kinda strange, but I concluded that she was just being friendly. After
breakfast was finished, I grabbed my backpack and ran to the bus stop as fast as I could.
Unfortunately, the bus left without me...again.
"Oh, not again. Mom will have my head for this."
"Don't worry, precious. You don't need that thing anymore. You have me now."
She was right, I have powers now. With that thought, I felt a new wave of independence
coursing through my veins.
"Alright, let's do it."
I ran towards the wall between my house and my neighbor's house, knowing that it was the
safest place for me to transform. All of the clothes I was wearing returned to its
original dark blue color. The shirt and pants intertwined with each other, forming one
piece, and then the suit stretched itself towards my head, hands, and feet. The symbols on
my chest and shoulders reappeared, as well as my claws and eye patterns. But I decided to
keep the mouth hidden, so people would think that I was only wearing a costume. My
backpack "dissolved" into my back thanks to Ripper's "Portal Pocket", giving me my full
mobility back. With the transformation completed, I leaped to the roof of my house and
fired two web-lines at two street lights on the other side of the road. I took a few steps
back, stretching the lines as far as they would go. I then released the tension in my legs
and launched myself into the sky like a pebble fired from a slingshot. The rush I felt was
unbelievable, adrenaline was flowing throughout my body, which Ripper happily fed upon as
if it was candy. Gravity began to take over after a couple hundred feet of flight and I
started to descend, so to counter it, I formed two flaps connecting the insides of my arms
to my waist like a flying squirrel. I made a dive towards the ground before quickly
pulling, catching enough wind currents to keep me airborne for a few more precious
moments. As I got close enough to a building, I shot a fresh web-line towards it to keep
myself going. My presence appeared to have caught the attention of passing pedestrians on
the ground below.
"Whoa! What the heck was that?"
"Am I seeing things?"
"That couldn't have been real. It just couldn't."
"Mommy mommy look! It's Spiderman!"
I was finally living my dream, zipping through the air with my new found powers and people
were watching me with an extraordinary amount of awe written all over their faces. I felt
like a celebrity or a world famous performer, it was the greatest feeling in the world. I
made it to the university, before the bus did in fact, and landed behind an old shed that
no one ever went near. With a single thought, my costume returned to the form of the
clothes I had on this morning and my backpack reappeared over my shoulders.
"That was incredible.", I said while walking to the building where my first class of the
day was, "Thanks, Ripper."
"No.", she said still feeding off of my adrenaline, "Thank you."
I made it inside the building and that's when I saw her, Katie Donovan, the girl I've been
crushing on ever since I came to this school. She was about six months younger than me,
had jet black hair, baby blue eyes, fair skin, and a smile that could light up an entire
city block. She was wearing a seafoam green top and blue jeans. As she passed me on her
way to her class I could've swore that she winked at me, she must've liked my new more
muscular frame. I mentally jumped for joy, believing this to be the best day ever. That
is, until something else caught my attention. It was Ripper, she sounded like she was
snarling like a wild animal.
"Is something wrong, Ripper?", I curiously asked my symbiote.
"I don't like her...", she answered, hatred and jealousy consuming her words.
This new behavior of hers was extremely confusing, as Ripper was usually so bubbly and
filled with happiness. But regardless, I thought nothing of it and went to class, English
class to be exact. Two hours later, our lunch break began; I usually had the same thing
every day, a bologna sandwich, some fruit, a granola bar, and a juice box. I like routine.
I was just finishing off my sandwich when who should show up at my table but Katie Donovan
with a lollipop in her mouth.
"Hi, uh...Vincent was it?"
"Yeah. What's up?"
"I was...wondering if you'd like to eat lunch with me? We could grab a coffee and..."
"Leave...", echoed Ripper's voice inside of Katie's head.
"Huh? Oh, sorry. I thought I heard someone say..."
"Leave now or suffer."
"Okay, what's going on?"
"Listen and listen well. Vincent is mine, and neither you nor anyone else will EVER have
the honor of being his mate! Now leave his presence or face punishment beyond anything you
could possibly imagine!"
"But...but..."
Suddenly, an image flashed in Katie's mind, it was me and Ripper in our superhero costume.
After the image zoomed in on its head, it let out a terrifying, bloodcurdling roar that
could make Batman crap himself. Katie, shocked, confused, and mortified at what she had
just witnessed, stood there staring like a deer caught in the headlights, even letting her
lollipop hit the floor. The silence was eventually broken when Katie ran off as fast as
she could, screaming at the top of her lungs. The scene undoubtedly caused everyone in the
room to look at her and then at me. I decided to play dumb and pretend that this had
nothing to with me.
"Ripper, what did you just do?", I asked the symbiote through my thoughts, still unable to
believe what had just happened.
"She didn't deserve you. She needed to know her place."
"Do you know how long I was hoping for the chance to go out with her? Besides, what you
did was completely unnecessary."
"She only asked you out because of your new look. Back then she wouldn't even give you the
time of day. That shallow flake had nothing to offer you; she doesn't even deserve to use
your name in a sentence! And besides...", a small dark blue tendril sprouted out of the
collar of my shirt and began stroking my chin, as Ripper spoke once more, this time in a
more charming and soothing tone. "...she could never love you like I can."
I could not believe what I'd just heard. Did Ripper just confess to me that she loved me?
Not only did she say that, but she had sent my crush running in a fit of jealous rage. As
I began to put the pieces together, I thought back to what I had said before, my wish. Suddenly,
the truth hit me like a freight train. Was Ripper...Yandere for me? I guess it really is
true what they say:
Be careful what you wish for.
