Beacon Hills, California January 8, 2012
The night Scott was bit started like every other night in the small town of Beacon Hills. The moon was up and so was Dove, the young girl stood in the nursery trying to quiet down her younger siblings. It had become routine for the fifteen-year-old to spend most hours of the night sitting in the nursery with the two babies while Tim worked the graveyard shift at the sheriff's station.
Fifteen years earlier, Dove Azalea Starlight was left in the care of social services in Beacon Hills, California. Passed around from foster home to foster home until ending up in the care of Timothy Hale. A thirty-four-year-old sheriff's deputy, who filled the void in his life by taking in the then nine-year-old. Then six years later, taking in the two babies who were abandoned at Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital with nothing more than two blankets and a note with Dove's name on it.
It had turned out, that the same woman who abandoned Dove fifteen years beforehand had decided to repeat history. This time leaving two babies behind, twins, a boy and a girl wrapped in blankets with a note tucked into the outside stating that she didn't want the two and to take them to their older sister. At first, Timothy didn't want to take in the babies, said he already had to take care of Dove, and he didn't want the responsibility of two more children.
However, Dove fought him tooth and nail, stating she would get a job and take all responsibility for her siblings. She managed to find a stable job at the vet clinic as a receptionist, courtesy of Scott already having a job there. Also with help from Mellisa McCall, she managed to find a daycare provider that would take care of the twins during school. Then when she had to work Mellisa and the sheriff would take turns watching the twins.
Tonight was her night off, seeing as the first day back from winter break was the next day and Deacon said she needed to get her rest. That's what she was planning on doing after she put the twins to bed but someone else had other ideas for her. She had just got the two to settle when a loud crash came from her bedroom.
Slowly walking out of the nursery, she reached across the hall to grab Scott's lacrosse stick off the wall and slowly raised it above her head. Stopping in front of her door, Dove leans over to cautiously grab the doorknob and twists it open. Counting to three, the girl swings the stick back before storming into the room yelling out a battle cry making the trespassers scream. Leaning over she flicks on the light to find Scott and Stiles clutching each other near the window.
Dove sighs throwing the stick onto the ground annoyed, "What the hell are you two doing."
The two boys let go of each other as Scott reaches into his pocket pulling his inhaler out, "Currently trying to catch my breath." He takes a puff of the medicine staring at the girl like she's insane, "Why the hell did you storm in here like that?"
The blonde scoffs at him crossing her arms, "Why the hell did you two climb in through the window when you have keys to the house?"
Stiles shrugged his shoulders, "I felt it fit the aesthetic of what I wanted to tell you." The girl rolls her eyes at him, "Anyways I overheard my dad on the phone and heard that they found a body in the woods."
