Super hero or villain? The file Steve had set in front of the Avengers was almost empty but the things that were listed- they needed this girl.
"Her name is Gray? What kind of name is that?" Tony snorted, receiving glares from the room. "What? It's an honest question."
"This woman has survived multiple bombings, shootings, abductions, torture, and so much more. She never stays put for long so we have to hurry." Natasha said, pointing at one of the pictures. "In that one she has a bullet to the abdomen, thigh, and shoulder. Watch this clip."
"Help! Mommy help!" The child screams, flailing her arms around, trying to escape their kidnapper.
"No! Please! Don't hurt my baby! Don't hurt my baby!" The older woman was hit in the back of the head with a gun, blood seeping through her hair.
"Mommy! Mommy no!" The little girl was dropped and quickly ran away to her mother as the man who was holding her looked down, seeing a sword driven through him.
"Hail Hydra." The man chokes out before the sword was ripped out, the man fell face first and behind him stood Gray, her face masked with a scarf, knives and daggers lacing her belts.
"Let them go Richard. They did nothing." Gray snarls, watching as the other man just laughed and pointed his gun at her.
"It will be so nice to get rid of Gray." The man pulled the trigger but the bullet went straight through her. "What the hell?"
"There's one thing you should know..." the man furrowed his brows before his gun was grabbed. "I'm behind you." The trigger was pulled once again, the bullet lodging itself on the man's spine. "Are you two okay?" Gray disposed of the gun, pulling the scarf off and placing it delicately in the woman's head.
"Thank you Miss-" the woman winced as she stood, her legs shaking tremendously.
"Gray. You can call me Gray. Let's get you guys somewhere safe." The older woman smiled as Gray picked up the little girl, letting the mature lady lean on her.
"How can we ever repay you?"
"Get out of the country. I'll have a plane pick you up and you'll be sent to a safe house. There are others like the two of you there. You'll be safe."
The clip ended and they were impressed to say the least. "You said she doesn't stay put? Where was this at?" Bruce piped up.
"This was in Nigeria. A small village on the country border. Hydra got in, tried taking hostages and Gray killed them single handedly. This was about a week ago." Steve said and Natasha nodded, pressing a button to show a map of Queens.
"Now we have estimated how long she stays in one spot. It's normally around three weeks. We have video clips of Gray sneaking into abandoned buildings and coming out with a back pack. Always the same back pack, always has the same initials. PBP. Now we ran a scan on all of the people in Queens who have those initials from the past twenty years to the present and came up with five. Two of which are in jail, one is missing, one is in a hospital." Natasha stood, using a marker to put names and addresses on the side and circling building.
"And the other?" Sam cut in.
"Peter Benjamin Parker." Tony froze. "Age 16, goes to Midtown High. Incredibly smart. One living relative, May Parker. She works a hectic schedule at the local hospital so we can't get ahold of her. Lucky for us, Peter has an internship at SI. He's Tony's head intern and the only one with complete access to the whole tower. Meaning," Natasha turned to Tony. "you know him."
"He's my kid of course I know him." Tony scowled before standing. "And there is no way he's involved with someone like her."
"Boss Mr. King of the Spiders has arrived." Friday announced and Tony sighed.
"Send him up Fri." Tony replied and walked to the sitting room. "He's innocent I'm telling you."
"Hey Mr Stark!" The teenage boy said as he set his stuff down on the island.
"Hey kiddo how was school?" Tony ruffled Peter's hair, watching as his face lit up.
"It was actually really good! I met a new friend yesterday."
"Oh yeah?" Tony smiled.
"Yeah. Her name is Gray and she's super cool!" Tony nearly stumbles at his words. "She has all these knives and guns and she's teaching me how to use one. She's also doing me a huge favor right now."
"What do you mean?" Tony furrowed his brows.
"She's helping me on a case. Well actually I'm helping her because she was working it first but apparently, she needed Spider-Man's help to get it done! Look Mr. Stark she even gave me this super cool watch so I can carry my web shooters everywhere." Peter demonstrated how the webs shot out of the watches when he pressed a button on them.
"Uh huh and how did you meet?" Peters head picked up.
"Oh yeah we fought on a roof and she pushed my friend off." Peter shrugged. "But then she was all like 'Wait you're Spider-Man? That's so cool I've heard a lot about you' and I was all like 'wait really? Where are you from you have an accent' and she was like 'I'm from China' and I was all like 'no way' and she was like 'yes way' and then she bought me a churro and I pointed out which abandoned buildings had the best signal and we became friends." Peter smiled up at his mentor.
"Hold up she pushed your friend off the roof?" Tony's jaw was nearly touching the floor.
"Oh yeah Deadpool. You know. My boyfriend." Tony's face looked a bit more relieved. "So why are you so interested in her anyways Mr. Stark?"
"Because the Avengers want her on the team." Peter's eyes widened.
"Are you serious?! They would take her but not me?! That's so unfair!" Tony chuckled, wrapping an arm around the boy.
"Listen kid I know y'all have been meeting up and you've been giving her your back pack. I need to know when and where y'all are meeting up next."
"Oh right! I came to tell you that I would have to reschedule our plans for tonight so I could go meet up with her." Peter smiles.
"Where and when?"
"In about fifteen minutes on the roof of SI." Tony smiled, giving his son a hug. "Oh but she'll get suspicious if I don't show up. I gotta go Mr. Stark." Peter jogged to the lift and stepped in. "See you in a few!"
