"Hey Gray! What's up?" Peter asked cheerily as the lift doors open.

"I need your opinion on the case. I think I have it cracked but-" Gray froze, sensing another presence. "You told someone about me."

"What?! No I didn't- yes I did." Peter sighed, looking like tears were about to fall from his eyes. "I'm sorry Gray. I didn't mean to disappoint you."

"You didn't disappoint me. I'm just a little annoyed that you had to tell the Avengers where I was." Gray sighed. "But I'm not annoyed with you, just this predicament."

"Really?" Gray nodded, wrapping an arm around the boy.

"Really." Gray sighed before watching as Tony, Sam, Thor, Nat, and Wanda all landed on the roof.

"Step away from the boy and no one will get hurt." Steve called out from the now open lift doors.

"Ugh. You guys brought the ice bucket champion? Really? I mean I understand Maximoff since we have similar powers Captain Icicle?" Gray sighed, dropping her coat on the concrete to reveal her suit.

"You don't have to do this. Just step away." Wanda said and Gray looked at her.

"You didn't have to leave me. But you did." Gray's eyes darkened, feeling a presence in her mind. "You're wondering why you can't get into my head."

"It may take a little while but sooner or later everyone shows themselves." Gray laughed.

"I'm sure most do. But I'm not most. You should know that Wanda." Natasha frowns at Gray's words, turning to look at Wanda who looked as if she'd seen a ghost.

"Well considering I've killed you ten times and you're still right in front of me I'd say yeah. You aren't most."

"It comes with the part that I'm an immortal. I don't feel pain the same way you mortals do." Thor narrowed his eyes, trying to secretly take a step forward but Gray caught it. "Ahh the beloved Norse god of thunder. Where's the other prince?"

"You mean Loki? He's in the tower." Thor blinked in confusion before realizing what he did.

"Is he now? It seems I'll have an opportunity to meet with my love." Gray smirked. "But first..." she flicked her wrist and her appearance changed to Peggy Carter's. "You can go home Steve. Imagine it." Her voice was perfectly like Peggy's, even had Steve fooled.

"P-Peggy?" Steve set his shield down, taking a large step forward.

"We never did have that dance Stevie." Peggy smiled. "The war is over Steve. We won. You can go home."

"I- no!" Steve grabbed his head, falling to the ground. "You aren't Peggy!"

"Well he has common sense after all. Perhaps this is better-" Gray flicked her wrist again and now she was Bucky Barnes. "Don't do anything stupid till I get back." She flicked her wrist once more. "I only act like I know everything Rogers." Her voice sounded like Nat's but her appearance was of Nat when she had straight hair; back when SHIELD was still up.

"That's enough Gray." All heads turned to see Fury standing with Maria. "Stand down."

"Are you giving me orders?"

"Let me rephrase that: please. Please stand down and don't do something stupid." Gray's left eye twitched before she turned back into herself.

"Well since you asked so nicely." Gray smiled, picking her coat back up. "Maria. Good to see you again." The women shared a bow of respect before a voice cut in.

"So I'm confused. What the h*ll is happening?" The trio turn to Stark.

"Gray Reeves, the Empress. SHIELD's best assassin. Also our best enhanced." Fury said and Gray took a bow before them. "And also our cockiest."

"Nothing he can't handle." Maria smiled, wrapping a protective arm around the smaller woman. "Chinese tonight?"

"As long as I'm cooking." Gray replied.

"Deal." Maria leaned down to please a chaste kiss on Gray's forehead. "Love you sis."

"Love you too." Tony gagged in the background before screaming as a basilisk crawled after him. "Those things are so much fun."

"We aren't getting one." Maria said sternly. "I will not have one of those in my house."

"Eh it was worth a shot. Come on I've got a dinner to cook." Gray turned to the Avengers. "You're welcome to join me. Natasha, Wanda. And Steve, I didn't mean to- agh!" Gray screamed in agony as she fell to her knees, hands pressed against her temples in an attempt to ease the pain. "Get out of my head! Get out!"

"Wanda that's enough." Steve snapped but Wanda merely shook her head.

"It's not me." Everyone turned back to Gray, watching as Peter stepped forward, placing his forehead in her neck.

"Gray? It's okay. Calm down Gray. You're safe with me. I promise. He can't hurt you anymore." Peter said quietly and Gray sobbed, the pain not ceasing. "Colour?"

"Gray. Everything is gray." Peter sighed sadly and helped Gray to her feet, grabbing onto her waist when she stumbled. "I can walk Pete. It was just a minor crack."

"I don't care if it was a major crack, you need help." Gray shook her head. "I'm not taking no for an answer Gray. Don't make me force you into this."

"Okay fine." Gray let out a defeated sigh as she leaned against Peter. "Thank you." She whispered before blacking out.

"Does any know where Mr Loki is? He's the only one that can fix this." Peter asked as he hoisted Gray into his arms bridal style.

"Library I think." Peter nodded before walking into the lift. "What's wrong with her?" Thor asked.

"She has a crack in part of her brain. It allows someone that goes by the name of Thanos to slip in. And she's normally good at sewing the rip back up but I guess this time it caught her by surprise." Peter explained and walked out the open loft doors into the library. "Mr. Loki? I need your help."

"With what man of spiders?" Loki turned away from his book, furrowing his brow at the sight before him. "Lay her on the table. Is she the one with the crack?" Peter nodded and did as he was told. "Her name?"

"Gray. She's 23, has powers similar to Wanda's." Loki places his hands on Gray's forehead, feeling around for any presences.

"Im afraid we missed him. I can fix the crack but he would be able to break it back down. I can only keep him out if I use my magic to banish him. And for that he'd have to be in her mind for me to do so. I am sorry." Loki sighed, his pale face scrunching as he got to work. "The crack is mended but I cannot guarantee that he will not be back."

"It's okay Mr Loki. I know you tried." Peter smiles up at the god who was thinking.

"Maybe I should keep an eye on her. I have questions that I want answered as soon as she is awake. I could also help her through any nightmares she may have. If that's alright with you." Peter nodded. "Okay. I'll take her to my chambers." Loki picked Gray up and walked away, bumping shoulders with Tony as he went.

He set her down carefully on his bed, laying the green sheets over her waist. Loki day in his armchair and opened a book, hearing Gray's soft exhales of air.

This will be fun, Loki smirked to himself.
