Nico's POV
After I ate the surprisingly decent stew Will asked me if I felt any better and I nodded to him. Will stared at me and i felt a blush coming across my face, 'What is he looking at? Do i have something on my face, oh god no, please don't tell me i have Richard on my face?' I began to touch my face and he chuckled. "Um do i have something on my face or what?" I asked Will and he just shook his head holding his clipboard, "Naw its just...Nothing" he covered his face with the clipboard, like he was trying to hide...was he blushing?
I made my way to the clipboard and i started to pull it down, "Will, what are you doing?" i laughed a little bit, "Will, what are you trying to do?" He sighed and lowered the clipboard, "Nothing there was a smudge on the paper, i can't help with i had to fix it hahaha" He was definitely hiding something but before i could ask him he went to the other side of the infirmary.
Grover came over to my part of the Infirmary playing his Pan Pipe i think it was supposed to be a healing song but it sounded a little off key, i had to admit he'd gotten better than where he once was when i first met him, he's very much different but he stopped by near me flattening his tune and looking at me.
"Hi Nico" he greeted me while i was laying on the bed my arms to my sides.
"Hello Grover, how are you?"
"Good, yourself?"
"We'll im not turning into shadows if thats what you mean."
"We'll, you do know its bad if a child of-"
"I know i know, but im helping Will."
"Will? With what?"
"Senescing if anyones gonna die."
His mouth made in the shape "O" and he nodded and pausing for a long time before choosing his words to me
"You know about Will right?"
"What about him? I asked modestly "He's really sweet, nice, and happy if thats what you mean."
"Yea happy would always fit him" after a certain while of staring off into the distance and thinking, "Yeah, i don't think there has been time he's ever not happy." He smiled pulling an apple and a can he casually chewed on.
I nodded thinking about, how he never has he stopped being so happy never sad, maybe thats because i hardly see him .
I must've dozed off for a moment because Grover waved in front of my face, “Yo, anyone in there?”
I blinked a few times and then i nodded, “Oh sorry, was there anything else you wanted?”
Grover nodded and he asked cautiously, “From what i heard from...Annabeth when she was excited talking about, we’ll you”
I nodded signalling for him to get to the point and he did, i kind of regretted it
“I heard you had a crush on Percy....Is it true; we’ll used to i guess?”
I was shocked honestly Might as we’ll tell him, i’ve known him for awhile “Yea, I did before but not now, he’s happy with Annabeth. Trust me when i say I'm happy for them, She’s made for them and He’s made for her and i dont want to ever interfere with anyone’s happiness”
He sniffed and was watery eyed rubbing his eyes like he was watching the ending of some soapy oprea and came rushing to me hugging me like i was some damaged child, which i guess isn't the most untruthful thing in the world. “Im so happy for you!” He paused, “No no im so sorry, i didnt mean it like that, im glad you came out to me, it means a lot” I raised an eyebrow he wouldn't see it but i questioned myself Did i just come out of the Closet to Grover or something he acts like a overly attached mom or something?
I made a coughing sound to him and he released me, “Oh yea, sorry i forgot you don't like being touched huh?” I shrugged but nodded. He wiped a tear away and then smiled giving a small laugh, “Sorry, thats like only happened twice or so in my life”
After he finally stopped his tears nibbling on a napkin, “I’m not being mean or anything, please don't take it in the wrong way please don't because i see you the same whatever you prefer, but does this mean, your…?”
I took a deep breath In and out “I think i just like boys, i mean girls are pretty and all but I’ve only felt the ‘Butterlfies in your stomach’ with guys, but honestly i think they’re Skelton butterflies.”
He nodded and he gave me a soft warm smile, “We;ll im just happy when you find your prince charming whoever he is” He said rubbing my back soothingly but he stopped, “Sorry”
I gave a small smirk, “Its okay, but i don't think i’ll ever have my prince charming, i think he died from old age”
Grover shook his head, “No, you are going to have your prince charming and go fricking ride off into the sunset. Honestly i think he just took a wrong turn and got lost and was too stubborn to ask for directions”
“Yea, i bet i’ll get a real stubborn one”
“I’m serious, you out of all of the people at Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter deserves a Happy ending”
He nodded and then left with the words, “You will i promise.”
