Increasingly, with each article of clothing, tube of cherry red lipstick and numerous other possessions that were placed in her topaz coloured suitcase Zara felt the new ability to stand taller without her father's gaze pushing her down. Even as water droplets fell from the sky, cascading down her skin, soaking her hair and dampening her clothes, she felt relief in hailing the cab that would take her on her journey to the unique future, that would unfold. As she stepped into the cab, smiling at the kind, but well aged driver Zara sunk down into the lush seats tuning out the world for the long drive to the airport. If Zara had, in fact, directed her attention to the window she might have noticed the black Sudan following her. But, as the case may be, Zara didn't notice and she continued to be followed through to the moment she stepped off the plane in the warm and humid climate of Hawaii.
Some may wonder however, as Zara most definitely was, why the elusive founder of King Enterprises would send his daughter off to a school on a tropical island surrounded by the roaring ocean. The answer to this was rather simple, the purpose was to get her as far away from him as possible, so that he no longer had to look at her in disgrace.
As Zara entered the ocean-view located school the palm trees wafting in the breeze, she took a breath. A deep lung filling breath. The ocean and salt-tasting air filling her lungs with clean air and almost a sense of peace. "Ahem" Someone cleared their throat from behind Zara,"am I interrupting you" the stranger continued. Zara whirled around to face the snide looking boy, exhaustion was evident on his face but Zara kept her mouth sealed closed. She had to endure a long journey to arrive here and didn't want to make any enemies- especially on her first day.
"Do you need something" Zara questioned attempting her best as sounding polite and respectful, instead of the exhausted and rude sounding comment she had restrained. " 'Do you need something' well aren't you just a polite, irritating girl" the boy sneered with distaste. Running a hand through his pale blond locks he sighed, and then in a less insulting tone he spoke; "I'm required to show you to your dorm at this ghastly hour at night, so if that okay with you princess can we carry on". The boy still managed to maintain a negative connotation of self-importance in his words, but Zara who was utterly exhausted brushed it off and nodded slightly.
Following the disgruntled boy, Zara attempted to keep track of each twisting hallway, sharp turn and spiralling staircases, attempted unsuccessfully. In reality their journey through the school must have only been mere minutes, but to Zara who was utterly exhausted it felt as though hours had passed when she asked "how much longer? where are we going? what even is your name?". Zara immediately regretted speaking and anticipated an exasperating sigh or sarcastic comment, but instead, to her surprise, the boy released a melodic laugh. "Well princess aren't you just full of questions?" A rhetorical question Zara was sure, the boy then continued "It wont be much longer, what is that people say? Good things come to those who wait. " He smirked at this knowing full well how his little comment would irritate Zara, but he found he rather enjoyed annoying her
She was not content with waiting however, especially without a name to identify the boy with, so Zara, rather stubbornly waited unmoved looking at the boy, scowling. He laughed almost mockingly at her and spoke as if reading her mind. "My name is Liam princess" he winked "your room is here" he gestured to a door directly in front of them "and my room is here" he gestured to the room to the left-directly next to her room. "I'm supposed to tell you that I'm here at any time so just knock, but" he voice lowered darkly "if u wake me up again tonight, i will kill you" Liam winked and placing a key-card in her hand left and entered his room.
The hallway suddenly felt ominous and eerie especially with only a single light to illuminate, or perhaps it was Liam's threat that made Zara hasten her pace and enter her room quickly exiting the stone adorned ancient hallway.
