As you tried to calm your breathing and wipe away at your sweat, you noticed Bakugou was hunched over, clutching at his forearms.
You debated whether you should walk toward him or not, but ended up doing so anyways.
"Hey, Katsuki." You tapped his shoulder. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine!" He yelled through clenched teeth, Bakugou looked like he was in a lot of pain.
"Can I help you?" You asked him. Your heart twisted at the sight of his pained expression.
"No!" He refused, snapping at you. "I want to win without anyone's help!"
"Okay, okay." You held both hands up to show that you would stop pestering him. "Win on your own, but if you're injured, you won't be winning anything."
His eyes widened at this and he thrusted his arms toward you.
You placed your hands on his forearms and massaged them. Your own energy slipped into his body, and the strain in his forearms mitigated.
He closed his eyes as a soothing feeling fell over him.
You removed your hands from his after you felt that he had recovered enough strength. You waved as you walked away. "Good luck getting first place."
Bakugou grabbed your wrist before you could leave.
"Thank you." He muttered and then let you go.
Your eyes widened. This was the first time he's said that to you. "You're welcome!" You gave him a big smile and walked over to the stage. After a while, the results were posted.
Midnight introduced the second round. The screen behind her began to shine with the words, 'Cavalry Battle'. She explained that participants can form teams of 2-4 people. Each person has a set point value based off of how they did in the first round. Points went up by five staring from the bottom, and first place was worth ten million points.
You felt bad for Midoriya since everyone started to stare menacingly at the value of his head. 'No one is going to want to be on his team...' You thought, pitying his situation.
The students were instructed to create their teams and you couldn't help but be surprised at how many people surrounded Bakugou.
Naturally, you wanted to walk in that direction, but since you were fourth place, people began to flock around you also.
"(Name)! You were so cool!" Ojiro made his way toward you, and all you could say was a bashful 'thank you' in response.
Out of the crowd, a familiar purple-haired male made his way.
"Hey." He nodded.
Your expression brightened. "I finally get to learn your name."
"Shinso Hitoshi." He stated. "You wanna work together?"
You nodded. "You talked big a couple of weeks ago, so I've been curious. What's your quirk?"
"Let me show you." Shinso turned to Ojiro and asked, "Do you wanna team up with us?"
"Yeah!" The boy nodded enthusiastically. But soon after, you noticed that the look in his eyes changed.
"Is he... hypnotized?" You asked Shinso. With a quirk like that, he could've easily been in the hero course.
"Yeah. If my target replies to anything I say, they turn into a puppet of mine."
"Scaryyyy." You shook your head, but then your eyes lit up. "That's insanely strong!"
