Death Blade (A H.O.T.D. Fanfic)

Prologue

My name is Yuka Ryo and my younger sister's name is Kairi Ryo. I guess you could say I was raised in a military camp ever since I was born, practically. But when my parents died in the line of duty, I took their place and took care of my sister as my cadet. I was eventually promoted to general as my Sargent gave me the nickname Red Riding Hood. The reason was because of my crimson red hair that stood for the hood and my sister was given the nickname Lil' Blue since she's younger than me and because of her blue hair.

I have long, crimson red hair that was a bit curly and pulled in a half ponytail as my eyes were a royal blue. Kairi had long, light blue hair that was a little shorter than mine and pulled up into a high ponytail while her eyes were an emerald green. I never wore a standard military uniform, I always wore what I wanted, but what I didn't expect was to get transferred to Japan from America and go to a private school known as Fujimi High School.

As I was going over some information in a folder marked TOP SECRET in big, bold, red letters, Kairi was on the couch, listening to music on her phone as there was a knock at my door.

"Come in." I said, my Sargent entering the room.

"Red, we need you to do a...special type of assignment."

"What kind?" I asked, not looking up from my papers.

"We're sending you and your sister to Japan."

"Explain." I said.

"I know you're not going to like this, but we're sending you to high school."

I froze. I slammed my papers on the table and stood up, glaring at him. "What did you just say?"

"I'm sending you to high school."

"Why?" I snapped.

"Because you need to know what it's like to be a normal teenager."

"I'm a general, not a fucking high schooler who goes to the mall, wears stupid skirts, and is a complete moron! I've been in military school since I was practically born, I don't belong in high school!"

It was then Kairi set her phone and earphones down as she came over to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Yuka, we never got to live our own lives, and now's our chance. Let's just give this a try. Mom and Dad would've wanted us to live normal lives and not be military generals..."

I sighed irritably. She was right, ya know... Kairi and I never got to live normal lives, instead we worked for the military and became generals where she's my general in training. However, we had to do something or we would just end up hating our lives... I had to face facts and accept that I had to live a normal life as a high school student...
