A young girl, no older than 15, sits by a tree in a light filled forest. She rests her head back, brushing her fingers through her hair and sighed. She turned back to her book. She was up to the part she hated. Where the difference between good and bad was made evident. She hated that. It was her personal belief that no person could be bad or good but that their intentions could be bad and good but not the person.
Enough on that, two boys, one her age and the other significantly younger, came running through the forest.
"FRAY" the younger boy screamed, his blonde hair shining in a ray of sunshine.
"There is no need to shout little brother. " the older boy spoke at a more reasonable volume before turning to Fray. "Evening Fray"
Fray nodded to him in reply as the younger boy ran in to hug her. She smiled, "well, well, little Lucas has quite a voice on him" she spoke as she began to tickle him.
"Hahha......hahaha....st...stop.....stop it" Lucas turned to his brother, his face pleading to be saved. His brother, however, stood stock still. Fear shone in his eyes as he moved forward to his friend and brother slowly. He breathed out "Fray, Lucas, don't look back but come over here please?" His voice low, cracked for a moment.
Fray gulped, suddenly holding Lucas tightly. As she began to slowly move forward, covering Lucas with her body as he clung to her, she stared straight into the older boys eyes and spoke " Kyle, what is it? What is behind us?"
