Marie

Today is my sixteenth birthday, which I've been excited for, for a while. Now I'm starring at everyone in horror, as the laugh, and whisper behind my back.  I'm covered in stupid cake frosting, and the stupid... cake!  I pictured my sweet sixteen not being this stressful. My beautiful hair, dress, EVERYTHING! I feel as if somebody is stabbing me with a knife. I glance around the area, and find that one girl, and that one girl, is my best friend, Maddie. She is just starring at me, her face saying, "I am so sorry." My mouth, open in shock, now closed, because I realize it makes me look like an even bigger idiot. I think about running away, or walking, but I can't decide because both are super emmbarrissing. Out of nowhere, Maddie jogs to me, and whispers, "I'm so sorry."

I look around for my parents. There no where in sight. I headed straight to my house, and opened the door, fighting back tears. "Mom?" I say. No one responded. I ran up to my room and found a blue box, with silver ribbon tied around it. I found the tag, flipped it over to the other side, and read it. It said,  " Happy Birthday Marie! Love Mom, Dad, Kelly, and Jack. " I look down the card, and something else is written down. "P.S  We have to leave early. Sorry sweety! Have a great time!"  "Was I supposed to open it earlier?" I whisper to myself. I drop the tag, and stare at the present, not knowing if I should open it or not. After thinking I just open the present. Inside holds a beautiful necklace with my name on it.

Chapter 2

Sara

"Do it." Chelsea says in such a mean tone, I feel like I have to.  My hand stutters when I pick up the piece of cake.  I'm about to throw it, but then I put it back on the light purple table.  "We shouldn't be wasting food like this. Some people don't have food, ya know." I say in a nervous, but confident voice. Her two other "girls" as Chelsea likes to call them roll their eyes, and Chelsea says, for the fourth time now, in the meanest voice ever, "DO IT." I pick it open get ready to throw it, and of nowhere, Chelsea grabs my hand, and threw it for me. My mouth open is open in shock as I watch the cake slide down Marie's dress.  Her mouth is open in shock, just like mine. I close it, and watch as the three "girls"  walk away, laughing.

Once they're gone, I run up to Marie and whisper in her ear, "I am so sorry." I look at her, her face not turned to me, looking at the crowd, horrified.  " I ruined her sweet sixteen." I think miserably. I look out at the crowd, and when I do she runs away. Everyone went silent. They shrugged their shoulders. People continued to party. Some went home.  "Nice job, Sara." Chelsea chuckled, than walked away. "I ruined her sweet sixteen." I think again.

I am such a jerk.

Chapter Three

Marie

I put down the necklace, and the door opens, out of no where. "Mom? Dad?" I ask. "Hi Marie! How was your day!" My mom asked. "Oh....it was.... great."
