Riiiiiiiiiiinnnnggggg!
My dream comes to pause from a loud annoying noise. I grumble as my alarm insists I wake. 'It always did a good job of pissing me off, that damn thing!' I thought to myself while trying to fall back asleep after whacking it off the nightstand. It was finally silent again, and I got comfortable in my fluffy sheets, humming in pleasure.
...
RRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGG-
"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, I'M UP!" I yell at my alarm clock that was now lying on its side, far from my bed, "For heaven's sake."
I pull my bedsheets off to the side, and drag my legs off the bed, yawning. 'What a night.' I thought to myself, remembering the constant training I had done before bed. The bruises and scratches were still visible on my knuckles from practicing my taijutsu, and my shin pleaded for something to heal it from training. I stared down at the dark, ticking clock that lay on my snow-white carpet, embracing the dead atmosphere that loomed my room. Today I felt an urge of annoyance. 'Every day is the same. I wake up and prepare for a duty that mocks the Uchiha name. Everyone in the village are fools, thinking they're better than I.' I mumble. I pressed my hands against my back and popped it, and then stood up and headed to the bathroom. Once I was finished preparing, I picked up my head protector and tied it around my forehead. The sun was just rising when I stepped outside. The air was cool, and the wind played a harmonious melody that urged me to walk forward. The wind led me inside the village's market area and treated me with the smells of fresh pastries, and hot pancakes. My mouth watered, as I headed to Kaito's Breakfast Restaurant. When I entered, Mother Kaito, as she liked to be called, bowed to me, and offered me a seat, and a warm smile.
"The same old, sweet pea?" Mother Kaito asked.
"Yes, of course," I replied, plainly.
I sat by myself and browsed the menu. I knew everything that was on it since I came here almost every day for breakfast, but every once in a while, I checked to see If anything new was added. 'Seasoned Scrambled Eggs... Crispy Bacon Bits... Berry Pancake...' Read the menu. All so basic food items, yet I never got bored of eating them. Food was food, something to energize you for the day and keep you from dying of starvation. After my meal was given, I began to slice the pancakes into even pieces. As I ate, customers started to pour in, and the once quiet room, then filled with chatter and the constant sizzling of the pan. I left early and thanked Mother Kaito for the meal.
I walked quietly down the streets of the village I grew up in and examined the shops and buildings. Shop keepers were opening their doors, and adjusting their signs for today's customers, hoping the sales would bring more buyers. Mothers clipped their laundry up above from their windows, and fathers came out for their daily duties. The sand and gravel crunched underneath my shoes, and the sun peeked above the walls. With everything starting to wake up, the silence was beginning to disappear. The pink sky was turning blue, and the sun finally rose, lighting up Konoha. There was something satisfying about watching Konoha wake up that gave me a warm feeling in your heart, but I didn't understand why. Soon, I arrived at the gate booth.
I guarded the gates when Kotetsu and Izumo were on break. It was a job I hated, since my level of nintaijustu, and intelligence was far greater than some typical jonin's level. Although, I had no choice because guarding the gates were one of the only ways for me to pay for necessary living requirements. If I had time, I would spend a few hours working in a bar for a few more bucks. When I got to my station, I sat down, and sighed, feeling so alone.
