Third person.

The day of the interview was a mess. Amara was a mess. She had no sleep because of her nightmares, so she looked very tired. She also woke up extremely late and she was running very late. She didn't even eat breakfast or lunch. She ran out the door hoping to catch a cab.

She reached the building two minutes before her interview and she was still in the lobby. At this rate she would be late to the actual interview. She walked in passing the scary looking bodyguards and through the metal detectors. She stepped towards the receptionist. The pretty blonde model sitting at the desk gave Amara a look up and down with a disgusted look on her face and asked what she needed. Amara replied with a smile after giving her outfit a once over. She thought her black turtle neck and plaid pants were pretty and professional plus they covered most of the bruises she received from Harvey. The blonde goddess told her to go up to the highest floor (60th) and wait in the waiting room until her name was called.

She did just that and she was already one minute late to the meeting! The elevator would take at least five minutes. She accepted her fate. Oh how she wished she could cut her problems away right at this moment. As she stepped out of the lift she heard her name being called. "Nova, Amara, last call for you Ms. Nova"

"I am so s-sorry, I am right here"! Amara ran towards the voice. Suddenly she was in a room with people too pretty to be human. She felt small and insecure. She was easiest the smaller person in the room and she was well underdressed. She now understood why the receptionist was disgusted.

"Being late is very unprofessional Ms. Nova. Mr. Sterling does not tolerate such inconveniences" a women in her late sixties scolded.

"Yes of course that's c-completely u-understandable, I will not h-happen again" she stuttered with cold sweat running down her spine. The women sensed Amara's unease and whispered to her.

"You may go in, but be careful and stay calm, Mr. Sterling doesn't do well with people who aren't perfect" she gave Amara a small smile and wink. Amara felt even more nervous after that statement but she was appreciative over the tip.

She walked into the office with tinted black glass doors, she felt the tension between herself and the man staring out the window gazing at the skyline of New York. This was easily one of the tallest buildings in New York City. The room was solely black and white. The room was vast with many different items to go along with the theme. Couches. A desk. A board room table. With a room that leads to what Amara assumes is a washroom. Lastly she spotted a private elevator. She decided to clear the air by introducing herself. In many articles written about interviews they all said to be a leader and to be yourself but more confident. Which she was not. So she acted.

"Hello, Mr. Sterling, I am Amara No-"

"I know who you are and frankly why should I give you the time of my day when you wasted exactly six minutes and twenty seven seconds of my time... Well Ms. Nova, do have anything that can change my mind or do you want to take your leave now". Jeremiah's husky yet rough and stern voice roared.

"I am v-very s-sorry sir but p-please give me ch-chance, please pardon my s-tutt-ttering. I have a lot to offer, w-while I am underneath your w-wing I will also be s-studying b-business. I have already been accepted at CBS, Columbia business school. Working with you w-would give me m-much more experience and going to s-school while working for you would make me th-that much better of an employee".

"You have a point and we will have to work on your stuttering and since most people here won't even be going to business school you might make an exceptional P.A. Let's see how long you can last. The longest personal assistant I have had only lasted seven months.  I am quite a lot to handle. Do you think you can beat that"?

"Yes sir, I m-most definitely can beat that, e-even at your w-w-worst sir" Amara announced trying her best at being confident.

"We'll see about that, now go to Mrs. Hopkins for the information you'll need for tomorrow morning and I will tell her you got the job"

"Of course sir"

"And Ms. Nova"

"Yes"

"Don't be late again or I will not hesitate to make you the shortest amount of time I have had an assistant for" he threatened with a smirk.

"Of course Sir" with that Amara scrambled on her way. Jeremiah made sure to do a background check on everyone that booked an interview and was astonished by Amara's record and transcripts, perfectly clean, her grades were almost as good as his own, and she graduated early with a more than exceptional GPA.
