So.

Here I am, standing at the edge of the hole leading into a deep mountain.
The very edge at which I will jump off and take my own life.

Let me explain.

As a child, I was usually happy. I had everything I had wanted, I had friends, I was happy.
Life was good. Life was magical. I never wanted to let go of that feeling of happiness.

But then as I got older, I realized.

Life is nothing as I thought it was before.

Life is horrible. Life is cruel. Life likes to build you up, just to knock you down as if you were those building blocks you used to play with as a child.
I started to resent life, and the people in it.

As I got older, people showed their true colors. They became cruel and manipulative, and eventually...left. Abandoned me. All of my friends, and my family. Except my parents, of course.

I still had my parents, right?
Wrong.

My mom. She had died. I do not know of what reason or how she died. All I knew is that it was sudden, and I did not expect it.
As a result, my father became secretive. Enclosed. He kept to himself.
Most nights I had to try and cook for myself. It always came out...edible. Never good, though.

After a bit like that, I realized. I realized what had happened. Life had come crashing down on me like a boulder being pushed down a hill, and I was in the way of the decline.

They didn't want me.
They didn't need me.
They did not need me for any of their personal goals or problems, so they threw me away as if I were a new toy they didn't like.

I looked up if anyone else had this happen to them. I then saw many and many and many pages of people going through the same thing. Being thrown away because they were of no use.

That is the day I learned. The day I learned of humanity, and its true colors.

Humanity is horrible. It's cruel, terrifying, and idiotic.
Animals are going extinct because of us.
The world is dying.

...

Even our own race is dying because of what we caused.

So I decided I didnt want to be apart of this.
I decided that I did not want to be apart of humanity.

So here I am.
Standing above a mountain with many legends about it.

They all lead to the same story though.

Monsters and humans long, long ago lived in serenity and harmony. But one day, a war broke out in between the two races, because the humans grew weary of the monsters' ability to absorb human souls. The humans being victorious sealed the monsters underground with a powerful spell casted by powerful wizards.

This is exactly why I chose this mountain.

Mt Ebott.
The same mountain foretold with monsters inside.

If I jump, the height is sure to kill me. But if it doesn't, the monsters can come for me.
That is.
If they are real.

Being ready for my demise already, I curl my arms to my chest, and I lean back into the hole. This position is for optimal, faster falling.

The light from the top gets further and further.

Until I hit the ground.
