"Good morning y/n! Ready for surgery?" Dr west said as you were waking up. Gray was still asleep.
"I guess so, is it that time already?" You asked.
"Sure is! let's wheel you on down." Dr West said as Gray started waking up.
"You got this y/n! Love you and stay strong!" Gray said as you left the room.
You blew him a kiss and the next thing you knew, you were out.
~Three hours later~
You started waking up. Your eyes fluttered slowly since you were extremely drowsy and tired. You opened your eyes completely and just stared at the wall in front of you. Gray stood up very slowly and walked over to you. All you could focus on was the bright pink cast that went from your toes all the way up to the top of your thigh and the black orthopedic brace over top of it all
Gray didn't say anything. He just stood next to your bed looking at you, holding your hand. Tears slowly started trickling down your face as the pain got to you. You were too drowsy to do anything so you just laid there.
"Baby, everything will be ok." Gray said holding your hand with one hand, and wiping your tears away with the other.
You look up at him. "I love you." you said very slowly and quietly, while still crying.
he squeezed your hand harder and kissed your forehead. He stayed there for a few minutes holding your hand before you fell back to sleep.
~twenty minutes later~
Dr west walked in waking you up, but you didn't act awake, you kept your eyes closed pretending to be asleep.
"Has she woken up yet?" Dr west asked Gray
"Yes, about a half an hour ago. She was only awake for about ten minutes and was in a lot of pain." Gray said back.
"okay, that sounds pretty normal. since we found out last surgery that she's allergic to lots of medicines, we had to be really careful with which pain reliever we gave her. The one we went with definitely won't take all the pain away but it will made her feel tremendously better. It's totally normal for her to be in a lot of pain for about two days. She'll also sleep most of the day and when she's awake she'll be pretty drowsy. For now we're going to keep her on bed rest. She's not allowed to leave this bed for any reason unless specified by me or the other doctor in this unit, Dr Timburck. There's a cup on the counter over there that she will have to urinate in. If you would like to help her with that you can, or call for one of us and we can help." Dr West said.
"ok, I should be able to deal with her and help her but i'll let you know if I need any help." Gray said.
"ok, i'll check back in later!" Dr West said, shutting the door behind him.
You "woke up" right after that. You turned your head towards Gray slowly.
"did you hear any of that?" Gray asked.
You shook your head no.
"ok well you aren't allowed to leave this bed for three days and when you need to pee, let me know." Gray said.
"that's stupid, if i need to get out of bed, i will they can't make me stay in this bed." you said back.
"y/n they can and you will listen to them." Gray said calmly while brushing your hair back away from your forehead with his hand.
You looked up and him with tears in your eyes. Your eyes met each other. He squatted down to be eye level with you grabbing your hand, kissing it.
"awh baby what's wrong?" Gray asked
"It hurts" You said starting to cry hysterically.
"oh babyyyy." Gray said scooting your over and climbing into bed with you. He tried to cuddle you as best as he could with your leg being suspended. He wipes your tears with his thumbs and gives you a long kiss on the top of your head as you rest on his shoulder.
"i'm so sorry this happened to you baby. You don't deserve to go through this." Gray says. He puts his head on yours. His hand rests on your thigh rubbing his thumb up and down.
"I wish I could take all your pain away." He says.
You slowly fluttered your eyes closed trying to sleep to escape from the pain. Eventually, you fell asleep in Grays arms with tears caked on your face and your hair a dirty mess. You hadn't been able to shower in days and were so thankful for a boyfriend who didn't care how nasty you were. Unconditional love.
