England, home of an old empire. An empire built upon exploitation and slavery. Still an
empire none the less. Also where I live. My name is Augustus, bit odd I know, it's nice to meet you. I have a brother, Antony, and two parents. My family is old and royal so I've been told. I'm not Royal, you would just have to look at me to realise that. We live in southern England, near the city of Yonkton. Our lives are insignificant I suppose you could say. We were unimportant, but that was all about to change...Rattling and screeching, the school bus reached the airport. All the kids crammed to get into the fresh air after being on the bus for nearly 5 hours.
"Single File!" shouted one of our teachers Mr Morris, " Calm it down!" He was short but looked strong. He had a bushy brow and dangerous face underneath his greying hair. We all piled out the bus and took a deep breath.
"So this is it Aug?"
I turned. My brother was stood there behind me with that mischievous smile on his face.
" What have you done Antony?" I snapped.
"Nothing," He raised his hands innocently.
We followed the teachers towards the baggage station, which was hard considering we couldn't see Mr Morris' head. Pouring, spouting and saddening the rain kept killing whatever mood was left. As my brother and I were at the back of the line we couldn't here the teachers rules and guidance. Upon reaching the baggage station we all checked our bags and whilst I was putting my water bottle away in my suitcase I got a visit from the school bully. Well he isn't really a school bully as he only targets me and my brother.
"You can't take perfume with you on the flight Augustus." He and his friends snickered.
"Funny as ever Hamilcar," Replied my brother.
I stood face to face with Hamilcar. He had dark brown eyes, tanned skin and a great stature. He was about 2 inches taller than me but that didn't scare me.
"Shut up Antony. This isn't to do with you. This is me and Augustus."
"You don't scare me Hamilcar,"I said.
I realised we were face to face, looking as if we were about to fight.
"Augustus," My brother warned.
I didn't care. Blood was roaring in my ears, I threw a punch and caught Hamilcar on the side of his face.
Mr Morris came over and held me back. Being helped up, Hamilcar locked eyes with me.
"You will pay for this, emperor of Rome."
