To her dismay, she identifies the baby as her own first-born - the child she'd been forced to surrender to the ruling Council of Elders during a religious ritual twenty-seven years earlier. Reeling from the discovery, she relentlessly continues the investigation and identifies two Elders as her baby’s murderers, but simultaneously unearths additional evidence to prove that they are also the drug smugglers. As a mother, should she exact revenge and prosecute the guilty for her baby’s murder? Or should she, as the nation’s selfless Chief Justice, release her baby’s murderers and negotiate with them for vital information needed to stop the Incan invasion? CONSPIRACY OF ELDERS is a historical novel of 91,572 words which is based on the Chachapoyas (The Warriors of the Clouds), a tribe which once controlled the northern Andean Cloud Forests of Peru from 300-700CE to the late 1400’s CE UPDATED every 48 hours.

The First Punic War (264-241 BCE), a pivotal conflict between the Roman Republic and Carthaginian Empire, marked the beginning of Rome's rise as a maritime power. Triggered by the Mamertines' appeal for help in Sicily, the war saw Rome and Carthage vying for control over strategic Mediterranean islands. Carthage, with its strong navy, initially had the upper hand, but Rome ingeniously built its own fleet and introduced the "corvus," a boarding device that turned naval battles into infantry engagements. Significant victories, such as the Battle of Mylae in 260 BCE, showcased Rome's adaptability. Despite heavy losses due to storms and protracted guerrilla warfare led by Carthage's Hamilcar Barca, Rome's resilience prevailed. The decisive Battle of the Aegates Islands in 241 BCE forced Carthage to surrender, leading to the Treaty of Lutatius. Sicily became Rome's first province, establishing its future imperial expansion. The war highlighted Rome's strategic ingenuity and set the stage for its dominance over the Mediterranean, foreshadowing further conflicts, including the Second Punic War led by Hannibal.

The arms race began in Mesopotamia with the invention of composite bows, light chariots and crossbows. The Persian (Iranian) emperor tried to conquer Athens in 480 BCE but was delayed by the Spartans at Thermopylae while Greek warships destroyed the Persian fleet. The Macedonian ruler, Alexander the Great, completely destroyed the Persian armies by 326 BCE and established the Greek empire. Then, between 600 and 200 BCE, a few hundred Greeks revolutionized science, mathematics, medicine, engineering, history, law and philosophy. Meanwhile, Greeks settlers in Sicily were in conflict with Rome and, by first century BCE, Romans had conquered Greece, Egypt, Carthage and the old Persian empire. Roman traders made large profits using the Silk Road between Rome, China and India and which created higher incomes though out the Roman empire. Roman engineers built more than 80,000 km of roads throughout the empire and 800 km of aqueducts in Rome delivered a million cubic metres of water each day. After the battle of Zama, Hannibal later tries to poison himself during the conflict but it later stopped by Scipio Africanus and held as a prisoner. Being from total enemies to being something more then they expected..Hannibal swore an oath to hate all Roman but will he later break that oath and be with Scipio or will he run away?
