Chapter 17- "I'm fine"

Holy shit no way! I disappear for a while and come back to all this support from you guys. Thank you so much and glad you're enjoying the book😜 but I repeat... Holy shit no way! I disappear for a while post a chapter at random cause why not annnnnnnnd... I'm back with another just 24hours later! That's almost unheard of but I had to after reading all the comments

Toni.

Toni was kind of jittery as they all climbed up through the trees to their bikes.

She laughed a little
"What did you do throw your bikes before stopping?" Looking at the pile of motorcycles laying by her own.

"Again Topaz we were worried didnt really have a lot of time to think or care about the well-being of our bikes" Jughead snapped "what happened to you?" He asked again becoming more frustrated that he wasn't getting an honest answer out of Toni. Serpents trust eachother, they dont lie and they always back one another up. Why didnt Toni want to tell them? what was she hiding? and if someone hurt her... Why wouldn't she let them help?

Toni looked back into the trees... her mind flashing back to the confusing yet thrilling but strange and amazing but awful yet okay ... you get the idea  ...things that had happened.

Driving with Cheryl's arms wrapped around her waist. Sheltering themselves from the rain in that hut. Flirting with cheryl.
Arguing with cheryl.
Kissing cheryl. Or more Cheryl kissing her.
How was she going to talk to the girl about this or more importantly how was she going to just leave her in their like this.
After she consoled Cheryl while she  broke down into hysterics and fell asleep with Cheryl wrapped up in her arms and woke up with Cheryl still wrapped in her arms.
She sighed
"Umm Toni?" sweatpea clicked his fingers in front of her face.
Shit. Correction. She sighed out loud.

"Umm sorry" she looked away from the woods and stared at the confused looking bunch of guys.

"Listen I'm okay I just went to get shelter out of the rain yesterday and I must have fallen asleep" she explained now realising she probably couldn't just leave.

"That's all?" Fangs dragged out the question as if urging her to elaborate.

"Yes that's all guys I'm sorry I freaked you out but I'm fine" they looked at her and then each other as if telepathically communicating on whether or not the story was acceptable or even believable.
"Toni .. you cant just disappear on us like that though why didnt you call?"

"What so you could come out in the storm and pick me up on the same bike I have... bright idea moron" she tried to play it off.
"No you dont get to call me names after what you put us through" Fangs whined similar to how a child would when its mother would deny them candy at a store.
"Okay sorry dad" Toni rose her hands in defence.
"Toni" Jughead looked at her and rose his eyebrows while Sweatpea just shook his head whispering "unbelievable" under his breath.

"Okay okay damn I've said sorry I was just trying to lighten the mood" she caved. She didn't want to be dishonest with them but their was no way she could tell them the truth. Firstly, they probably wouldn't believe it anyway, she wasnt even sure she believed it. And secondly, outing Cheryl would only call for more disaster and make the serpents at Riverdale no.1 on Cheryl's hitlist.
Not that they weren't already buuuuut she would have a LOT more motivation.

The boys looked at eachother again and then back at their feisty serpent friend.
"So what you're telling us is the truth"
"YES why would I lie?" She rose her hands up questioning them all.

"You're right sorry Topaz we were just worried is all" Fangs repeated.

"I understand but you can go now"
They all moved towards their motorbikes then perched themselves comfortably on them and then as if on cue they all turned and looked at Toni ...again.
"What?" She said awkwardly trying to ignore the reason she didnt want to go back with them.
"You coming?"
"Nah I'll catch up with you guys"

"Seriously?" sweatpea asked.

"Sweets" Jughead shook his head.
"But she's been here all night we should atleast check-" he started to protest at the girl's ridiculous notion.
"Sweatpea." Toni spoke this time. "I'll come and see you guys later I just need to stretch out after all this drama I am sorry guys and thanks for caring" and she stretched widely as if to back the strange excuse up.

"But-"
"Sweets" Jughead spoke again putting on his helmet and staring and the boy.

"Fine" he reluctantly spoke mimicking Jugheads actions and bringing his engine to life.

"Thank you" Toni mouth to Jughead who just nodded in response before driving off, his guys following in suit.

She waited watching them disappear out of view then immediately began running back towards the hut and the probably fuming redhead she'd find inside... or maybe orangehead because of the flames that would be illuminating out of it.

Cheryl.

She heard the rumble of engine far off in the distance and allowed herself to sit solemnly and hold back tears.

After everything that had happened would Toni even come back for her would she even care enough?

Cheryl seemed to stir up an anger inside herself and she couldn't stop it. She was angry at Toni for leaving eventhough she had no choice. She was angry at how filthy she felt. But most of all she was angry at herself for her lack of control in everything that had happened and what she had done.

God was she just suppose to just sit here stewing. No. No. She wasnt going to just wait around and be angry or sad. She got up pacing before moving towards the door and pushing it open harshly...
