Precap:

" I love him Uncle! I really do!"

Titu's P. O. V.

Why is Panchiji behaving so odd today? Even though my dad's response which was to follow, was eating a part of me, Panchiji's odd behaviour is tearing me apart. But Why? Obviously she's my friend for god's sake. But I have never felt so much of a bond with anyone before. With my thoughts wandering places, we finally reached my home. I got down and released my purse from the clutches of my pocket. As I was about to give money to Ricksha Bhaiya, Golu stopped me. "I'll take care of this Bhaiyaji, you go" he said. I smiled and patted his shoulder.

Somewhere in this wide world, I have totally lost my happiness. I have never in my life complained about anything in this world. But Today, I feel like asking the cliched question, Why me? Why me God? But I also know that, I am not going to get any response for the question. Every human being has to go through such a situation, where he would ask, Why me? As I entered my house, I saw my darogaji, I mean, my dad, had made my whole family wait at the living room. Man! This is going to be really tough!

I removed my slippers and as I was about to enter the house, his command echoed through the walls of the house, "Stop right there, Titu". I took a deep breath, getting myself ready to face the consequences. I slowly lifted my head to look at him. He had his piercing gaze attached on me. He looked behind me and gave a chuckle. "What? None wanted to be your bride is it?" He asked. Man! Why is he triggering my memories back. But I chose to stay silent rather than kindling an argument. He laughed out loud. He came near me and patted my shoulder.

"Very good bete! Very good! This is exactly what is expected from you Titu! Good for nothing!! I guess you do know the consequences, don't you?" He asked. I gulped down his words and tried to not recall what I very badly wanted to forget. "Enough! Leave him alone!" My maiyya said. Sorry mom! I guess I deserve this today. "Maiyya! Let him talk. I guess I did deserve this. He was right I'm indeed fit for nothing" I said. "No Titu!" I heard someone say. Wait a girl's voice? That too a familiar one!

I turned around to search for the source. Panchiji?!! My eyes, ears, brain, nothing was ready to accept the fact that she was here. Didn't she wanted to go to her friend's house? Did she lie to me? "I know I am late, but that doesn't mean, you will assume that I will let you go" she said with a smile. "I know you are punctual, I'm sorry for the delay" she said while catching her ears. What the hell is she even talking? My darogaji seemed to pierce his detective eyes on us. Titu! You are very badly sandwiched between them.

As there was no other go, I just smiled and said, "That's okay Panchiji! After all we are humans, we tend to make mistakes." That was actually for my dad, but he seemed to be not affected by this. "Panchi?" He asked. She immediately went and touched my dad's feet and said, "Namaste Uncleji! My name is Panchi. Titu did ask me to be on time, but due to some urgent work, I got delayed." What the actual hell is happening over here. None hinted me about this script before. My whole family seemed to be taken aback. Why wouldn't they? I myself am!

"But you-" "I'm sure you wouldn't have any idea about our relationship or even my existence but-" "No, Panchi I do know about you! You are the topper of Mathura University, right?" My dad asked. Why is this day filled with surprises? First of all, why didn't I have any idea about her identity but my dad knew it. Myself and Panchiji looked at each other with widened eyes. "Panchi, are you even in sane mind? Did he pester you or threaten you to say these? You can be honest with me beti!" My dad said.

Apart from people tagging me as 'good for nothing', has he thought of adding a 'Kidnapper' to that list? I mean, What the hell? Doesn't he have any belief on me? "No I don't!" He roared. What? I looked at Panchiji only to get an apologetic look from her. Gosh! I did say it aloud! Automatically my right hand preferred to support my head. It's better I just shut up! Even though my head was bent down, I could feel the tension prevailing in the space.

"Panchi! Beta, you are like the sun! While he's a mere drop in the ocean!! There can never be a comparison between you two!" My dad said in a rather calm voice. Now what's happening here? Poetry competition? "Maybe I am like the sun! But he's not just a drop, but a whole rainfall! They don't necessarily come together but when they do," I felt Panchi grabbing hand. I lifted my head and looked at her. She smiled and said, "They create Magic!" The Spark in her eyes, the smile on her lips, the assuring pressure on my hand! Wow! For a second I felt like she actually meant everything. "I love him Uncle! I really do!" She said without breaking the eye contact.

"I still can't believe this Panchi. I certainly don't have any regrets in this relationship but are you really sure? Can I take this forward?" He said. Wait forward? "What forward uncle?" Panchi asked with a confusing yet smiling face. "Forward in the sense, shall I go talk to your dad about your marriage?" My eyes literally felt like popping out. We both turned in such a swift motion that I am so sure that we would definitely have cracked a nerve. "But Bauji, while she's okay with it, why to ask her dad? " I asked a rubbish question witha nervous chuckle. "Panchi was not plucked from a tree. She was given birth and brought up by her parents. They definitely have the say in this." He said.

Panchi looked at me with a shocked pair of eyes! Oh God! Where have I landed myself?
