Although I had my gun at my aid, I still felt uneasy going into my home. The lights were off like I left them-check
The house was quiet-check
No footprints-checkEverything seemed in place. I stretched as I stepped nimbly around my house. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I sighed in relief.
My room was left untouched. I didn't feel propelled to sleep in the same bed I woke up in-the same bed as last night, though. I needed time.
Time went slower than the sun. I didn't realize how long I was at the gun shop, having to undergo the procedures of actually purchasing a gun and getting the license.
I headed in the shower and quickly showered, making sure to be ready for any surprises this time. Who knew if he would come back? Clearly, he was crazy.
The sun eventually went down, and I sat in my living room, glancing behind me at the doors and windows every chance I got. Paranoia was taking it's course.
Soon, I was making dinner in my kitchen, watching meat sizzle on the surface of the black flat pan. The smell of oil and cooking meat filled the kitchen. I was so hungry.
The meal was done and I poured myself a glass of water, before repositioning myself to sit, facing the door as well as the television.
There were no good movies on and I wasn't really a television person to begin with, so I decided I'd play some games on my phone as I ate, before going to sleep.
My Glock 19 sat on the counter top and I grabbed it and unboxed it. I inspected the gun closely, before realizing I'd have to move quick when it all boiled down to actually pulling the trigger. Would I aim right? Would I even pull it?
Thoughts flooded my brain as I sat there, daydreaming.
My eyes became too heavy to stay open, so I gave in and dozed into a deep sleep.
Bang
My eyes shot open. I pitched myself up from the couch and glanced over at the door to see it closed and locked. So what was it?
Was someone inside?
My heart began to race, causing memories of last night to flood my mind once again. I took a deep breath and stood up, holding my now loaded gun.
My hands shook as I held it with the thought of actually shooting someone. Then again, why else would I buy a gun?
The bang sounded again, coming from the other side of my front door. This time it was more forceful.
I ran over to it and peeped out the window beside it. There was a police officer, holding his waist as he looked down, only the top of his hat facing the door.I took a deep breath. Mr Coleman actually called the police? Was it Alex? Someone must've reported I had a problem.
I slowly unlocked my door and opened it. The police officer looked up and my breath caught in my throat. It was the guy from earlier today.
Buck....
