That morning was the same as all the other, but of course, there was one difference, capture the flag was on soon, don't know when, but I knew soon.
That's probably why everyone looked hectic and worried, or maybe because we're probably doomed.
I was really bored. So I started talking to Ryan.
"Hey, dude!" I said, at least trying to be nice.
You might wonder what that means. Well, since I'm a son of Hades. People fear me. I don't understand why. I just want to fit in. So I try to act normal.
"Hi," he said, uneasily.
"Visions?" I asked, totally aware.
"Well..." Ryan said. "Yes."
"What was it about?"
"Well, I just-"
"Hey Jack," Tina came. "How's last night?"
"The same," I shrugged.
"Nice," she said, sounding really upbeat. "Also, it's capture the flag today, right?"
"Yes," Ryan and I said at the same time.
"Do you know the teams yet?" Tina asked.
"Well, I-" Gurnaaz cut me off.
"Probably not, since the head counsellors don't even know yet," she said.
She had a point. Since the head counsellors are in charge of each cabin, they'd be the first ones to know.
"Well, when will we know?" Ryan asked eagerly.
"Hmm... don't know, maybe another hour or so?" Gurnaaz said, unsure.
"Oh well, I hope we're not enemies anyway," I said to Ryan.
"We should go," Gurnaaz said. "Like, people are already at the climbing wall."
"Yeah, okay," Tina said.
We all went to the climbing wall and did our activities.
"Attention all participating cabins," Chiron boomed through the mic. "Counsellors will be informed of the teams shortly, please await further instructions. Thank you."
We all looked at Gurnaaz.
"What? I don't know anything yet." she defensively said.
Then a raven flew in with a note. Gurnaaz's raven.
"Hey, Ray! What you got there?" She said to the raven "Oh...I see"
"See what?" Tina asked.
"Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I have the teams, The bad news is that you're not gonna' like them." She replied.
"Well, we don't have a choice, What are the teams?" Ishaandeep asked.
I crossed my fingers that we wouldn't end up going against each other, but I knew that wasn't possible.
"Apollo and Ares, versus Poseidon and Hades." she finally said.
A few moments passed then Tina finally said "How do they even come up with the teams? You're the head counsellor, so you MUST know. Do you?"
"No, I don't," Gurnaaz said. "But I wish I did."
"Gurnaaz, you HAVE to ask Chiron to change this," Ishaandeep said.
"Yeah, you have to try." I agreed.
"I can't, and even if I do and Chiron listens we'll still be up against each other, there's nothing I can do."
