Everything was silent except for one thing....I could hear screaming, I thought to myself "who's making that noise and why?" I remember my throat hurting, it was burning like it was on fire, like my vocal chords had been ripped out, I didn't know why it hurt at first or why I couldn't breathe, until I realised...it was me who was screaming.

When my vision came back to me I saw white, I thought for a moment that I was dead and gone to heaven, then I remembered that I wouldn't be so fortunate to have a place there. Slowly but surely I began to realise where I was, the steady beeping and sweet scent of flowers gave it away. I turned my head, only to see what I already knew, I was in a hospital bed. "Wait, who would sent me flowers?" I thought to myself. I didn't even remember why I was in that bed to begin with. I tried to speak but realised that my vocal cords were still indeed where they are meant to be, but they were thoroughly thrashed from my endless screams. My words came out as a low growl sound as I shifted my weight to feel stinging pain in my arm from where an IV was inserted. I was confused, why was I even here? Why did I require an IV drip? Who in the hell sent me flowers? I lifted my free arm over to the little tag hanging from of the stems to try and read it, it was a useless effort as my vision was still blurred, I couldn't read a single line from that tag. I did however see a small black frame on the table next to the flowers. After feeling them I realised they were glasses...were they mine? Did I wear glasses? Wouldn't hurt to try them on right? I placed them on my face and to my surprise....they did not belong to me, they definitely were not my glasses...which means someone has come to visit me, flowers and a visit? I began to question if I were actually dead because nobody would send me flowers let alone visit me. I took the glasses off and placed them neatly back where I had found them. After laying there for a while trying to remember what had happened I heard a sound which made me jump from my skin, it was the sound of the door opening. After the door opened I heard the light tapping of heels drawing closer, panic began to set in as nobody I knew was friendly, did I know that? Who did I know? I couldn't remember but something instinctual in me made me feel fear. Almost like the adrenaline shot me out of any drug induced sleep state, my vision came racing back to me, I was definitely in a hospital, they were definitely flowers and that was definitely an IV drip. What in the fuck happened? Honestly nothing could've prepared me for who I was step around the curtain to greet me, it was....thee most beautiful woman I had ever seen, she was an older woman but still looked so incredibly youthful, her eyes were a deep brown colour, like if you looked into them for too long you'd fall into them and be lost in the abyss of her gaze. Her hair was short but wonderfully styled, as if she just got done from a professional photo shoot, it was blonde with dark roots, it looked...really nice. Her frame was slim and dare I say, very, very sexy. Why was SHE visiting ME? A wolf in sheep's clothing perhaps? My walls were up and my guns were drawn, metaphorically of course. "Hey, you're finally awake sleepyhead." Her voice was soft, warm and almost... caring? She spoke with such ease as if she'd known me her entire life. "How you feeling? We almost lost you, you know. The nurses will be glad to know you've woke up." She continued as she sat down in the seat next to my bed, her gaze was so friendly and every word that left her lips were soaked in worry for my wellbeing and joy for my awakening. "Pardon me Miss but who are you?" I said, well, to say I said it is a stretch, it was more like I growled it at her, in the state of fear from her entry into my room I had forgotten my voice had become the equivalent to a pissed off animals growl. The mysterious woman's smile vanished and her eyes turned from soft to sheer heartbroken, "y-you don't know me?" She stuttered. I cocked my head to the side, was I meant to know her? Who did I know anyway? My mind was a blank everytime I tried to think of a person I knew, I couldn't think of a single person, who were my parents? My friends? Did I even have friends? Did I have a partner? "I'm sorry, my mind is blank, why am I here? Do you know what happened to me?" I croaked deeply at her, feeling slight remorse for making such a beautiful woman feel sad. The pretty lady wiped a tear that had strayed from her eye as she stood up, she made her way over and sat on the bed, slowly she placed her hand on mine. This made me jump, physical touch felt so foreign to me and feeling the warmth of another person on my own hand felt so alien. "What do you remember, dear?" The woman had asked me an impossible question. Where do I begin? Do I start with 'i don't remember anything' or 'i remember screaming until my throat bled'? Hundreds of possible responses raced through my mind but only one managed to escape my lips, "I remember feeling like I was dying." The words of choice left me feeling even more confused at everything. The beautiful woman sighed and wiped away another tear trickling down her cheek, "Do you know my name?" She asked, hesitation overtaking her voice, almost as if she immediately regretted the fact she'd asked that specific question. I sat for a moment, quietly processing my thoughts to try and come up with a name, finally I surrendered to my own void meteorites. "I'm sorry...I don't, we're you my friend? Did I have friends?" I say, hoping that I didn't offend the friendly woman by my bedside. Her expression changed drastically, it went from sympathetic to utter heartbroken, tears began to flood from her eyes as she wept into her hands. "I'm so sorry, please forgive me, I don't remember anything, I don't even know my own name. Please don't cry." I pleaded with her, feeling truly awful for making her cry, it was strange, it felt like I knew her, like she was important to me, but why can't I remember anything? Not one fucking thing? I reached my arm out and placed it onto the weeping woman, "what's your name? Maybe it'll bring something back." I asked her while stroking her shoulder. "My na-my name— is Sarah, I'm your girlfri—girlfriend." She struggled to speak due to the crying. I was taken back, Sarah? My girlfriend? Damnit, why don't I remember?! I grew increasingly more agitated with myself, "Sarah." I say under my breath, the woman looked at me, her eyes red and swollen. "It feels familiar, you feel familiar. Can you tell me more about what happened?" I ask, forcing a gentle smile. "Y-yeah, sure." Sarah replied, shifting her weight to be facing me. She took in a deep breath before telling me about the events that had unfolded.
